Though unlikely you may get another shot at the end of this season. Who's on your watch list? Who should the Saints Woulda Coulda Shoulda hire in January 2025? You don't want to talk about the Saints except to dump on them. So, you and I are going keep talking about why you do that because that's about you, not the Saints. SFIAH |

Fine. If you want to "talk about your Saints." then name exactly one positive thing that you see in the 2024 squad. Just one single encouraging thing that may pan out this year. You've already posted about how Carr underachieves, and how Allen is an absolutely horrible coach. And that's in the last 1/2 hour. Can you see even a glimmer of hope in the 2024 squad? If not, how can you really call yourself a fan? Because you fanatically only want an exciting team that wins championships? I await this one with baited breath. SFIAH |
Super Bowl Championships: New Orleans Saints:1, Carolina:0, Atlanta Chokers: STILL ZERO
Only Atlanta choked in an unchokable situation... Life is definitely good. |

You might have forgotten that the New Orleans Saints finished last season with a winning record. They were 9-8. It would have been more fitting if they found a way to finish 8-8-1 because since the end of the Sean Payton/Drew Brees era the Saints have settled into boring mediocrity with no end in sight. They're 25-26 the past three seasons. They have a quarterback in Derek Carr who is 33 years old and has a $150 million contract, but Saints fans never seemed to embrace him during his first underwhelming season in New Orleans. They have a head coach in Dennis Allen who seems likely to be on the hot seat at the end of each season, only to survive to the chagrin of the fans. The Saints' top two highest-paid players for most of the offseason, in terms of salary-cap hits, were running back Alvin Kamara and tight end Taysom Hill before Hill restructured in late spring. Kamara's best days seem behind him and he plays a devalued position, and Hill will be 34 and is the pet project of a former head coach who hasn't been on the Saints' sideline since the end of the 2021 season. Hill's restructure in mid-June cleared up salary-cap space and pushed a larger cap hit to the future. That's what the Saints do. |

Re: Reasons To Be Positive
Well, let’s see if we can get this train back on the tracks.
Reasons to be positive about the season. The biggest one for me is getting rid of Carmichael. I held nothing against the guy but he’s just not an OC. Kind of like that assistant manager who knows all about the business and is good at what they do but you hand them the keys to the business and they can’t do it at that level. To piggyback off of that I was pleased with his replacement. I’m optimistic, but we truly won’t know until the season gets rolling. That’s the biggest reason I have to be positive about the season. Oh yes…the start of a new season!!! GO SAINTS!!! ![]() |

If we had even a halfway competent play designer and/or playcaller we would have easily won an additional two to three more games, walked away with the NFC South, hosted a home playoff game, and had a chance to do some damage.![]()
We have one of the best defenses in the league and it will only get better with an offense that can spend more time on the field. Who Dat!! ![]() |

Having Kubiak here gives me optimism for this offense. Hopefully he can get results out of Carr and others that Carmichael just didn’t have the ability to do. If he doesn’t then that begs the question, did we misjudge on Kubiak or is Carr as bad as a lot of people say he is? Only time will tell. ![]() |

He had the 10th most TD passes in the league and 21 other starters threw more picks than his eight. It's like some people are so lazy they judged him before he ever took a snap as a Saints QB. But, haters are gonna hate. ![]()

Re: Reasons To Be Positive
This place is barely worth coming to anymore. I used to come here to get all my Saints news and have constructive discussions with other fans. Now this place and seemingly every Saints related thread is dominated by people that either have zero interest in having a conversation and just want to troll threads or people that seem to get their sayings from WWF wrestlers from the 1980s “There will be pain!!!”
I miss the days of JoeSam, Hagen, FF and JP. Those guys were knowledgeable and could have a conversation or debate on the team or a player or coach without turning the entire thread into nothing but trash talking and posturing. |
