I don’t detest Quido at all. I detest a multi million dollar organization that has brought my team to mediocrity, if even that.

Re: Reasons To Be Positive

A couple of things from the above article:

Before I go, if Saints football is a huge part of your life and how you bond with parents or family, I say to you being recklessly optimistic and possibly delusional about any upcoming Saints season is the way to live. You never know when the times you'll be able to call your mom, your dad or best friend after some absurd, preposterous Saints game won't be there for you. So take in those moments.

I'll never endorse or approve of the modern sports idea that “I have to root for the Saints to lose before the season starts because if the Saints aren't a serious Super Bowl contender they aren't worth watching.”

We look forward to Saints football all year and some of us are blessed to spend thousands of dollars to see them play in person. Why would I root for that experience to be terrible before it begins?

If I told you, “I've saved up for a dream vacation in Paris but I really hope the Eiffel Tower falls over. The French really need to get it together. A miserable vacation now means some vacation in the near or distant future will be better because Paris needs a rebuild.”

You'd look at me like I was cuckoo for coco puffs. Live for the now.

I love my Saints and I'm here to defend them not tear them down.
ironic.... defending the indefensible.

I positively think the Saints will NOT have a winning season with the current status quo. Too easy for the Saints organization to make bank while fielding a mediocre team. Mony talks, not championships, with this current bunch. Just a couple more months to confirm. pins and needles.

NO ONE ON HERE IS ROOTING FOR THE SAINTS TO LOSE. The nuance is lost on you again and again. For many if not most of us, the idea of the Saints winning just enough to keep things in perpetual “rebuild” mode with the key pieces remaining in place (all the right people in the building), is a slow torture that only a diehard masochist would willingly pay thousands of dollars to hope to enjoy.

Some of us strive for excellence in our personal and professional lives, and where we fall short, we have a multi million dollar entertainment industry to fill in the gaps and ease the stresses of daily life, at least on the weekends. To be disappointed again and again by the willful mismanagement and underperformance of our team’s colors, is nothing to celebrate.

Again (and again), we are not rooting for the Saints to lose, as they do a fair enough job of losing when we need them to win most, on their own. This is the reality that we get to witness, year after year since the Drew Brees/Sean Payton era. We were truly blessed for a good minute there, but you can’t put lipstick on this pig and call it a supermodel. That’s about it from this perspective. It’s just a game, but there is no honor or dignity in being even slightly delusional about anything in this precious life.

Re: Reasons To Be Positive

Hey, I understand being upset with the team. I was bit****** with the rest of them last year when it was all I could to stomach watching a team in disarray lead by a substitute teacher. So, I get it. Really. I do.

But this is a new season, and most fans use this time of year to reignite the flames of fandom. We have the promise of a fresh start. That alone is pretty exciting. Throw in a new OC that brings winning principles and the enthusiasm is brimming over at my house.
