I was stoked when we signed Penning. He was a huge dude with a rumored mean streak. Just a big nasty. I was excited.

His inability to grasp the NFL level of football was a huge letdown for me. Just an absolute shame.

I still hope the guy can turn it back on and play at a high level, even at RT. Or anywhere on the line for that matter. But so far he’s been a huge bust.

I hope he can put it together this year.

No. I don't hate Carmichael at all. I simply know that he had proven he was not capable of designing and calling successful plays. It was time for him to be replaced. As for Penning, he has yet to be given a real chance with legitimate coaching and development. Penning was but one of 53 roster members. Carmichael was the only offensive coordinator on the team. Any logical thinking adult would know which individual had more impact on the offensive performance.

It’s just like, I don’t “hate” Dennis Allen and Derek Carr at all. They are just occupying two KEY POSITIONS in a completely unspectacular and lackluster manner. They just AINT “IT”, and everybody knows it. I “hate” that I have to argue against putting lipstick on this pig for yet another season.
