Kamara is already overpaid for his production, and a new contract would require a major pay cut to about 10% below Mixon's deal based on age and production.

If Kamara gets a raise, we know who wears the pants in Metairie.

I don't suspect AK is trying to get a raise. I believe he may have been the only veteran on the roster not to have his contract reworked in the annual create cap space event, and therefore it will make it easy to release him after the 2024 season. If his contract gets reworked, the Saints will be forced to carry him in 2025.

His production can still be great if he's used correctly. He's more than a third down back but he's not a bell cow type guy. Still a legit NFL weapon.

He was totally misused the last two years. Hell, pretty much everyone one was. The biggest off-season addition was the subtraction of Pete Carmichael.
