Yeah, I think need had more than a little to do with the decision. We've actually got good quality depth in the DB corps. Simmons would have been a versatile luxury, but we've still got it all covered with good young talent included.

Atlanta, on the other hand, had a glaring need at safety and at edge (Judon).

I'm not mad about Simmons. However, I'm frustrated at this team's seemingly idle approach to improving GLARING weaknesses.

Go pay Trent Williams for 1 year while Penning either figures it out or we can draft our Fuaga for the right side.

In absolutely no scenario would I want to see Trevor Penning lined up in a regular season game facing REAL defensive ends.

There is just no way winning teams would have him starting at OT. He's not going to figure it out.

If I'm Carr, I'd be very concerned on my right side. Very concerned.

Good grief if they want to keep him, move him inside to guard. Maybe he can help there. And that’s a big maybe. From everything I’m reading, he’s a turnstile at tackle.

I was so excited when they drafted him. Man what a bust.

The only reason he’s still employed is DA is having a pride issue.
