Are we thinking scheme and live reps are factors that make the case for Penning to remain starter at RT?

And what if (when) he goes down?

Someone here posted Penning run block grades vs Titans but casually left off pass protection (63.8). I'm not drinking the kool aid.

I don't believe the starting RT is on the roster right now.

We go to war with the army we have, not the one we wished we had.

I don't see a whole lot of other options floating around out there at this point. You can bet that other teams are hawking that waiver wire to pick up some OL help. There's just not a lot of quality there.

The options are limited, but there are guys available. A lot of people may argue with me about this, Doug Marrone did a wonderful job patching a line together after the Penning failure. A guy like John Benton should be able to do the same and find some upgrades on the open market.

But it's crucial that we don't use this as a reason to overlook the importance of preparation and foresight.

National scouts, Ireland & Allen failed with this high 1st round pick & no contingency plan in place.

They’ll probably start Penning to keep getting him live action reps, but I think they should go with Udoh for now.

I hope we can find some bodies to bring in at starter or backup. As much of an optimist that I am, I am also concerned that there simply aren't bodies out there that can be truly considered upgrades.
