Just signed in. Don't know if anyone else said it but the Oline was 3/5 2nd string. The main missing factor??? Taysom Hill. The team just plays better when he is in there.

If our entire offense depends on the health of a 34 year old ball carrier who specializes in inviting physical hits, it will probably be a long season. Hill is a fun player but his age and style of play do not translate to exceptional durability.

LOVE LOVE LOVE me some Taysom - but if our entire offense depends on the health of a 34 year old ball carrier who specializes in inviting physical hits, we are in more trouble than even I would have surmised.

I seriously doubt that’s the case. That would be pretty ridiculous. He’s one of my favorite players, but the offense doesn’t NEED him to operate. I think everyone knows that.

Laid an egg. Hopefully they right the ship this weekend.

The offense is not SOLELY on Hill. But he absolutely is a difference maker.

The same can be said for a lot of teams. I, for one, appreciate having that much talent when he can be on the field.

If we do not have Taysom, trust me, someone will. What follows will be an ocean of regret when he is running it up our azzes because he will not stay unemployed for long..

Maybe we protect him better. Just having him on the field changes accountability for a defense

Taysom on the field always feels like we're running 12 on 11.

Re: Observations from Saints and Eagles game in the Superdome

My observations ...

Eagles fans showed up in huge numbers and were just as vocal as were Saints fans.

Losing McCoy on the third snap of the game was critical. I wish we had someone backing up McCoy because shifting Ruiz over to center weakens two positions.

The absence of Taysom was glaring. We had dropped passes on plays where Taysom would have been the outlet. We had key short yardage plays where Taysom would have picked it up. We had situations where Taysom would have make the key blocks.

The defense worked their asses off and it showed late. They simply wore down.

I can't blame Kubiak or Carr for the offense. The same sort of plays were called but the execution by the positional backups was clearly lacking.

We were simply outmanned by the Eagles defensive line. Carr had no time at all on some plays.

All in all this was a game we were not expected to win by most, even at 100%, when the season started. Almost all of us would have been overjoyed being at 2-1 with a very close three point loss to the Eagles.
