Let them go????
I've been monitoring this whole situation with the Saints possibly moving to SA. At first I didn't tihink the Benson would do such a dispicable thing, but it looks as if that's exactly what he wants to do.
So why not just let them go??? Don't get me wrong I am a huge Saints fan, but he's hell bent on going to SA, even though its obvious the NFL doesn't want it to happen. If the NFL is truly against this, and can't stop the move, they can still make a commitment to NO for the NFL to return. I know under normal circumstances if we were to lose the Saints we would not SNIFF the NFL ever again, but I think we can agree that this is the most unique relocation possibilty/situation in NFL history. We all know that New Orleans CAN support an NFL franchise. I think that the fans of NO did pretty well in attendance given the endless futillity that the team displayed. Switch the Saints with the Patriots....and tell me we'd still be struggling to sell out the Dome. After natural disasters in the modern era, US cities always come back better than ever, and New Orleans will be no exception. Anyone who thinks that NO will die off is kidding themselves. The federal government won't allow it. The gambling industry will help to invigorate the economy, and soon Fortune 500 companies will be given incentive laden deals to set up shop in NO. I'm highly confident that if we bring a new team in here, in about 3 to 4 years with a new stadium, FANS WILL LINE UP TO BUY SEASON TICKETS. A new regime, new coach, new players without the old attiude....fans will be given hope again. So IF THEY WANT TO LEAVE, what's everyone's opinion of the possibility that the NFL makes a commitment to award NO an expansion team down the road. If this is a remote possibilty, I say to our current team PACK YOUR BAGS LOAD YOUR TRUCK TAKE OUR JERSEYS AND LOGOS OFF RENAME YOURSELVES AND DON'T LET THE DOORKNOB HIT YOUR AZZ ON THE WAY OUT |

RE: Let them go????
I wouldn't be a fan of the new team that would move in. I would be a little bastard of the NFL. I would have no team to root for. Sure New Orleans would have a team, but they wouldn't be the same franchise; they might re-name them the Saints, but they wouldn't BE the Saints. Sure we might inherit a better franchise that doesn't tolerate losing and all that kind of stuff, but they wouldn't be our Saints. I don't live in New Orleans, so the only reason I still watch this team is because they've been there from before I was born. If this franchise left, I don't know if I could watch the "new" Saints.

I can understand that Duece....I wouldn't feel as passionately about the new team but I sure as hell would hate the SA team and could never support the SA team.
