Looks like Derek Carr has passed up both Johnny Unitas and Joe Montana on the all-time passing list.

Re: Week Twelve: Saints Bye Week News and Discussion
I have to say, now that we have the PAUSE of the Bye Week, I'm conflicted on this team.
As a long time devoted fan, I'm more than a little giddy at banging out two wins after a seven week slide into misery. HOWEVER, I fear we will not see ANY front office changes if somehow we come close to .500 to end this season. Once again, the Saints are faced with more questions than answers going forward: Salary Cap Kick the Can Aging Stars at the Core of our Defense Middling Draft Options Coaching Changes Questionable Talent Evaluation Perennial Soft Tissue Injuries at Alarming Rates Any thoughts? Where do we start? |

As for soft tissue injuries, looking across the league we're pretty much on par with most other teams in that regard. We have had it hit some key positions, but so have other teams. Others have dodged the bullet. Is it limited training due to collectively bargained reductions? Equipment? Playing and practice surfaces? I have also heard the increasing speed and size of the average player being a factor. Poor technique due to limitations of instruction at every level (high school, college, and pro) has also been mentioned. |

Re: Week Twelve: Saints Bye Week News and Discussion
A great way to deal with soft tissue injuries is to trade back in the draft, get two picks for one, and if the first player gets a soft tissue injury, you have a young backup waiting in the wings who was talented enough to be drafted. I know this goes against everything Mickey Loomis believes, its the proverbial mocktail, but he needs to start questioning his beliefs when the owner is having to overrule him and fire the coach.

Yep. HERE WE ARE AGAIN, doing the hallucinogenic mathematical scenario calculations, instead of watching a WINNING TEAM go into the “PLAYOFFS?!?!” with confidence. Put the pipe down, Guido.

As a "true fan" I never falter, hesitate, and vacillate (ie. waver) when it comes to supporting my Saints. Saying "never waiver" makes no sense. Learn the meaning of the words, dude. Missed your meds again? :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao: |

Tough times. Reality is, they probably won’t make the post season. But I’m hopeful for the team now. I wouldn’t mind seeing them continue to win, even if they don’t make the post season and even if it costs them dropping in the draft.
I just want to see more of a winning culture and attitude from them. More energy and more accountability. I have a good feeling about the future. |

SMARTass? Yes, I am SMART! You, as usual BRING UP THE REAR!!! SIRIUSLY! (Yes, I did it again!!)   "Defame much?" "As a "true fan" but can't appreciate a football related PUN? The substitution of WAIVER for WAVER? Not much PUN in your life, is there? SMART people know "PUNS" when they read them. Those bringing up the rear don't When your wife embraces her mistakes, she hugs YOU!!!   Here's a few more. "ALL IN PUN OF COURSE" You're Soooooooo EASY!!!! HAVE PUN! While you suck on more lemons!! GUIDO! HO HO HO HOOOOOO! Did you hear about the butcher who backed into his grinder? He got a little behind in his work! I used to be a baker, but I couldn’t make enough dough. I was going to tell a time-traveling joke, but you guys didn’t like it. I used to work in a shoe-recycling factory. It was sole-destroying work. I was going to look for my missing watch, but I could never find the time. I’m reading a book about that new restaurant called Karma. There’s no menu; you get served what you deserve. I bought some shoes from a drug dealer. I don’t know what he laced them with, but I’ve been tripping all day. I knew a guy who collected candy canes. He was always on a mint. I’m good friends with 25 letters of the alphabet. I don’t know why. I got fired from the calendar factory. All I did was take a few days off. I saw an ad for a boat. It said, “OBO.” I thought, “That’s a good price for a boat!” Then I realized it meant “Or Best Offer.” Why don’t skeletons fight each other? They don’t have the guts. Why can’t scientists trust atoms? Because they make up everything! What’s the difference between a snowman and a snowwoman? Snowballs. Want to hear a construction joke? Oh, never mind, I’m still working on that one. Why don’t scientists trust atoms? Because they make up everything! The future, the present, and the past walked into a bar. Things got a little tense. Did you hear about the mathematician who’s afraid of negative numbers? He will stop at nothing to avoid them. When life hands you lemons, make lemonade. But don’t try it with oranges; they’re more difficult. |

It’s one thing to be a fan who never wavers, but to be a fan that embodies the mindset of a culture that thrives on mediocrity (barely that), basically equates being a Saints Fan with quite simply being a Loser. I know you can’t or won’t see it, because I’ve been saying the same thing to you for three years, and you’re still shaking your pompoms at “winning is not the goal”. I am a diehard Saints Fan, but I’ll be cheering for other teams today, and into the Playoffs, because they PLAY TO WIN THE GAME. Have fun today. |
Re: Week Twelve: Saints Bye Week News and Discussion
We are not making the playoffs. There will be games we dont score a TD and we will tend to lose those. MVS is our #1 receiver at this point, and has career 50% hands that Reid and Mahomes could not fix, so for the games where he catches 100% and the games where he catches 50%, the games where he catches 0% are coming. There are secondaries in the league that will be able to shut down MVS and Austin, and that will put pressure on Hill and Kamara to carry the offense. Hill and Kamara are very old for their positions and are taking more snaps than every before and being depended on to take all the hits in the offense, they will miss games. We will probably not win those games. I am sorry but the reality is that a team with MVS as #1 WR and a 34yo coming off broken ribs as the focal point of the offense is not going on an 8 game winning streak. There is no world where that level of excellence with that makeup is sustainable.
Don't get me wrong. We could finish with Rizzi having a record about .500 and if we do, we should consider retaining him. It would be an accomplishment. But perfection is not a realistic expectation when you look at our roster and injuries and realize that the underlying reasons those injuries occurred remain, the previous injuries have left us with weaknesses that weak opponents masked, and more injuries will follow. |

At this point our receiving corps is decimated. Our offense now depends on 4 stars who have all missed time this year: Carr, McCoy, Kamara, and Hill, and all are healthy now, but probably some will have injuries the rest of the way. Its easy to see us being held without a TD with no receivers and any of them out. |

Wonder why we couldn't score against perhaps the best defense we'll face all season in their house? Hmmm? |
