We should sign Diontae Johnson if nobody else does.
If Diontae Johnson clears waivers we should sign him. Hear me out. I know he is a malcontent and I dont want him long term. But for 3 games at vet mimum, which is like $200k, we could feed him the ball in our offense that lacks any legit NFL receivers. If we get him two 100 yard games, which I think we might, and he says the right things about how he is a competitor and just let his emotions get ahold of him in baltimore because he was so frustrated on the bench and understands he made a mistake, we could allow him to rebuild his reputation. If he rebuilds his reputation, another team can sign him and we get a comp pick. This is a league where jokers like calvin ridley and christian kirk got mega deals. For a 3 week gig rehabbing Johnsons rep we could get a solid comp pick I think unless something in the formula presents a late acquisition from garnering one. And I dont think any team in the league is better positioned to give him snaps. Look what we did for MVS. I dont care that he is not a team player and has character issues. Ridley bet on football. Vick killed dogs. Blount refused to enter a game and went on to have a solid career. If Johnson ruins our chemistry and raiders beat us, we get higher draft picks. If he thrives and gets a big contract we get an extra draft pick. Its a win-win for $200k and 3 weeks.
