29 - New Orleans Saints (2-4)

Here's Bill Carollo's explanation of the Saints' holding call that gave the Falcons another shot at a field goal. "It's considered a pull and shoot," he said. Pull out the gun, shoot yourself ... the way Jim Haslett's season has been going.



20 - New York Jets (2-4)

The defense has got to come through, but against Buffalo it allowed four drives of 10 plays or more. I was reading today's paper, and I read a quote from MLB Jonathan Vilma: "It was humbug." Gosh, I thought. He's into Dickens and Ebenezer Scrooge. Then I backed up and read it again. "It was humbling." Damn tired old eyes.



9 - Atlanta Falcons (4-2)

Here's why I lowered them three notches after they beat the Saints: Thirty-one first downs, 456 yards, 31 points, and those aren't Atlanta's figures I'm giving you.

Actually I rather not because I don't know what I'll do to myself if we actually played them and lost.

Remember the Cardinals game, and E Smith's first ever pass (that went for a touchdown)? I'm sure the 49's would look like gods playing the sorry team we're dumb enough to be fans of.

But I can't expect anyone to show respect. Hell, -I- don't respect them, and I'm a longtime avid fan.
