I'd like for the Saints to show him on the big screen in the Superdome on the bench before every game so that the fans can let him know how much they appreciate him in New Orleans.

Show him on the big screen from back when he was on the Raiders bench, and flash the price tag that we threw at him, and you’ll empty the dome in minutes.

Re: Carr May Require Off-Season Surgury

From Google AI

If an NFL player's performance is deemed detrimental to the team, several cap ramifications can occur. Teams may be able to terminate the player's contract, either due to poor performance or "conduct detrimental to the team," potentially leading to a dead cap hit. The team may also face penalties if the player's contract is terminated for cause, as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
Elaboration:
Contract Termination:
NFL contracts often include clauses allowing teams to terminate a player for poor performance or for conduct detrimental to the team. If a contract is terminated for cause, the player may be entitled to any guaranteed money in the contract, depending on the specific terms.
Dead Cap Hit:
When a team terminates a player's contract, the remaining portion of the player's guaranteed money that is not yet paid becomes a dead cap hit. This means the team still has to pay that money, even though the player is no longer on the roster. The dead cap hit is typically spread over two seasons.
Injured Reserve (IR):
If a player is deemed unable to play due to injury, the team can place them on IR. They will continue to receive their base salary and the team is responsible for medical treatment. They can be placed on the IR, potentially allowing the team to sign another player, but within salary cap limits.
Waived/Injured:
If a player is injured and not placed on IR, the team can waive/injured them. The team would then need to make an injury settlement offer to the player, which could include a lump sum payment for lost salary and medical costs.
"Conduct Detrimental to the Team" Clause:
NFL contracts often include clauses that allow teams to terminate a contract if a player engages in conduct that negatively impacts the team. This could include off-field issues or on-field actions that damage the team's reputation or performance.
Penalties for Violating CBA:
The NFL and the NFL Players Association (NFLPA) have a CBA that outlines the rules for player contracts and termination. Teams may face penalties, including fines or draft pick reductions, if they violate the terms of the CBA.

Re: Carr May Require Off-Season Surgury

At this point Carr has done nothing that could be deemed as detrimental to the club. Veterans commonly do not show up for the earliest phases of OTA's. Especially if they are truly nursing an injury.

As for the "injury", I have heard "speculation" that it is likely the injury that he suffered in the 2023 season. Nothing new or out of the blue, if so. I believe, outside of the regular season, HIPAA rules apply and individual teams, nor the league itself, can share medical details without the consent of the player. However, as a contracted employee I also believe that the team must have access to that information, even though they are prohibited from sharing the same. I think there is little doubt the Saints front office know exactly where things lie.

As for Carr's off-season silence, nothing new there. Apparently he has always maintained a fairly low profile. I believe the podcast was more the pet project of his brother, David.

There has been nothing more than media speculation to date about Carr this off-season. There may or may not be truths to any or all of it. We'll find out sooner or later. It is the deadest period of the NFL year --- the period between combines and the rookie draft.

AFAIK conduct detrimental to the team is completely at the Saints discretion. Rizzi could have been disciplined or released for conduct detrimental to the team after clogging a toilet.
