With the 9th pick in the Draft, the Saints select Texas OT Kelvin Banks Jr.

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; There is a lot of love for this pick in the Houston news being that Kelvin is from Humble, just outside of Houston. ....

I'll be curious to know if the Saints coaching staff intend to move Fuaga back to his "natural" spot @ RT ? ...

Likely Cleveland... they have two picks prior to #40.

You think so?

Even with old man Joe Flacco, Desean Watson AND former first rd bust Kenny Pickett on the depth chart?

I believe the Saints will address defense (CB) with this 2nd rd pick.

I was thinking the same thing though I'm really open to whatever position we decide to go here. Addressing the OL need open things up for us. Do we really pass on a Will Johnson if he continues to drop? Not running a 40 has really costed him.

Now on to Banks. While I like him and the pick, I don't he maximized his potential in college. I've always thought he was bit overrated honestly. Hopefully he becomes a true anchor for a long time coming.

I read something about Will Johnson having what's described as a "chronic knee issue" also.

I'd rather pass on anyone with an injury concerns like that, we've seen that play out for years and it's tiresome.

I don't know much about what's on offer, but my next favourite pick would be either LB / Front 7 or WR.

This gives us three serviceable tackles. If Penning can improve enough to be relied on then I wonder how Fuaga would do at LG. That's not my favorite option though. Give me Banks at LT, Fuaga at RT and a new LG in round three or four is the best that I can hope for.
