He said you have to be a "real grown man" to play in the NFL and Shough is a real grown man. He praised every aspect of his game and gave the indication that he is the most ready to play QB in the draft, an opinion that I have heard more than once elsewhere. He added that the coaching he got from Louisville's Jeff and Brian Brohm was top notch. Chris' father, Phil, is from Kentucky and the Simms family are apparently close friends with the Brohms so they know the scoop. He also said that Kellen Moore will be a perfect fit for Shough.
Familiarity also incorporates nepotism. I'm excited to see what Shough can do at QB but I'm keeping my expectations in check.

Our recipe for success seems to involve placing an injury-prone, average quarterback—who struggles under pressure and is hesitant to take hits—behind a terrible offensive line. This approach has worked so well over the past two years; it would be stupid not invest our early second-round pick in a younger version.

Why not? So far he's got the highest ceiling in my opinion.

Injury prone? A broken clavicle, once repaired has never been an issue again, and a broken ankle that was the result of a hip drop tackle which would result in the same damage to any other player in the game given the same illegal play. That's it in his entire career thus far. How is that "injury prone"?

Report details why Saints 'embraced' QB Tyler Shough before, during NFL Draft
Previous reports suggested that Louisville quarterback Tyler Shough could be selected during the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, even though he suffered serious injuries each college season from 2021 through 2023 and turns 26 years old this coming September.

After the New Orleans Saints grabbed Shough in the second round with overall pick No. 40, ESPN's Katherine Terrell touched upon why first-year head coach Kellen Moore wanted to choose the young signal-caller who could be New Orleans' 2025 Week 1 starter.

"The Saints didn't just ignore those issues -- they actually embraced them," Terrell said about Shough's unique resume. "Shough's maturity appealed to a team in transition, pairing him with Moore, who is the youngest current NFL coach at 36. As quarterback Derek Carr deals with a shoulder injury of unknown severity, Shough said his only goal for now is to compete and help the team in any way he can."

Looks like Riddick is as high on him as I am. I think he's the best passer in the draft.
