There will likely be some tough cuts by other teams to pick up an OG or two. | |

Re: 2025 Saints Training Camp
Tyler Shough looked the best of the QBs, but with some caveats
In a day where all three quarterbacks received a lot of work, Shough looked the best. That being said, he still left plenty to be desired. He had one interception, but could have had as many as three. He also had one touchdown, but had another one dropped. The rookie looks far better than he did when he took the practice field for the first time, which is a good sign. It was the most game-like situation that the quarterbacks have seen, and Shough responded well. He was more decisive, confident and bounced back from his mistakes. When there was a bad throw or decision, he didn't revert to the indecisive player that he was a few practices ago. Outside of him, neither Spencer Rattler nor Jake Haener did much to stand out. Rattler had a couple of good throws, but his best drive still stalled out in the red zone. He threw an interception and had a couple of others that were broken up. The defense won the day overall, but the secondary had the most standout players. Veteran safety Julian Blackmon came in late, but quickly established himself as a starter. His best play came on a pass to Treyton Welch from Rattler. Blackmon had the tight end covered like a blanket, but Rattler still chose to target him. Blackmon broke the pass up with ease. On the next play after that play, Kool-Aid McKinstry came down with an interception on a slant play. McKinstry would have been listed as a "winner" even without that, though. He is playing with a ton of confidence and is on pace for a breakout year. Quincy Riley also had a nice practice. He looks like the true ball hawk that he showed the potential to be in college. While he didn't pick up a turnover, he got close on a deep pass from Shough to Chris Olave in the end zone. Riley came down with the ball, but didn't get his feet down. Read the rest here ... |
