I'll be on again next week, and probably weeks to follow. It's a political show and I used to be a political fundraiser and know Jeff. I may also be on ESPN radion 930 am in Jackson, MS later this week, but that's up in the air. Damned radio talk show hosts are so disorganized they sometimes call when you're on the toilet for an hour Q&A RIGHT NOW.

Talked about the Saints. We talked about the article Benson put out in the Times-Picayune and Advocate newspapers today. You can find that in another thread on this board.
We talked about SOS a grass roots campaign of advertising that you can donate to. I talked about how important it is to keep the Saints here now, and not worry about "the Cleveland Plan." Read Jim Henderson's recent commentary. People have to stop worrying about Tom Benson. Buying a ticket is not just putting money in his pants. Be concerned about showing the country the Gulf Coast region can support an NFL franchise. If we don't then the NFL many NEVER return again. Tickets are cheap for a reason, the Saints and NFL know people lost money. Tagliabue will be coming to evaluate Tiger Stadium as the home of the Saints next season. If he is greeted with "Tom Benson's a Jerk" and "We hate you NFL" it may impact us greatly. What I"m saying is, no matter how much you may dislike a player, or coach, or the team in general for it's current mediocrety, we must show up wearing our colors and make Tiger Stadium louder than the Alamo Dome ever hoped to be. We have to cheer the team even when things are bad, and we have to avoid boo-ing at all costs. If you are a Saints fan and you are going to cheer for the Saints, now is the time to Cheer harder and louder than ever, through good and bad, even with and interception or fumble. Our organization has gone to San Antonio where they haven't had to put up with all the crap we've had to put up with. They are fresh, young and new fans who are just glad to see the NFL in town. We have to show that much spirit, if not more. And if we do, and our attendance is good for 4 games, then our chances of having an NFL franchise in the Gulf South is very good. If we boo and hate Tom Benson, you can begin to start to forget about it. If you think for a minute these games won't determine the future of this organization, then you are completely wrong. Their reception and the show our fans put on will determine exactly what will happen next. Mark Clark |

I agree completely -- I even kept my season tickets even though I am now out of town and cannot go to many games. I sent my Xmas eve tickets in San Antonio to Whodi. Now I am trying to give away my tickets to this weks game against Miami. had a whole thread about it -- only one PM and he said that his siter and brother in law would go. If I can't find someone on this board I will go ahead and send them. I am kinda surprised that no one else asked for the tickets.
I hope that the fans that go to the game show their true spirit -- if you are mad at the current events fine -- but the only thing you can really do about it is still go to the game and cheer as loud as you can. A full stadium of Saints fans (not there to see Saban return) will look even better to the nation when our current situation is taken into account -- little money, displaced worried citizens, who have the threat of relocation thrown in their faces but they still come out to the games. Almost as powerful as the interviews with Horn where those in shelters said the Saints are the only thing they had left to look forward to. In any case -- thanks for bringing the cause to the airwaves. Sorry I couldn't hear it |
