Bouman? Is Haslett serious...

No offense, but going with Bouman makes no sense. He is a 33 yr old BACKUP! We are not trying to salvage the season. We might as well go with the youngster to see if QB is sumthing we will have to draft or trade for in the offseason. What happens if we bring in Phillip Rivers or Joey Harrington and Adrian starts getting noticed... Do we let him go like we let go of Marc Bulger and Jake Delhomme... without letting them have a chance? Even if Bouman comes in plays great he is still a 33 yr old backup which means he has 2-3 years left. Honestly if he has been a back up this long I dont see him becoming a great starter this late in his career.

As for trade value for AB... Who actually thinks we could have gotten sumthing for him last year? There are a ton of backups I would rather have than AB... possibly we could have tried to move him to someone who hadnt seem him play as much as we all have, but you dont think they would evaluate him and look at game film. The NFL isnt as stupid as we would like them to be... our front office seems to be one of the only franchises that doesnt evaluate talent.

RE: Bouman? Is Haslett serious...

Agreed. There's a chance that a team, maybe a slightly desparate team, would trade for AB. I would think a team would give up a 7th rd pick for him. That's something at least. Problem is no one is likely to trade cuz they know he's going to be cut unless they're worried about someone else getting him first.

Also agree on Bouman. What can he show that we don't already know. I'm not expecting Amac to win games. I'm expecting him to learn under live fire so we can see any development. We'll at least see how he handles the pressure, if he has any leadership qualities and if his intangibles, if any, will become evident in the NFL.
