the good thing, this team only seems a couple of players away from being legit. the bad our ownership and frontoffice doesn't have a clue. |

RE: compensation
I think it would be great if we got an additional 3rd rounder. Deep draft and it would help us dearly. Though with that said, the way we've been drafting after the 2nd round the past couple of seasons, I don't think the Saints will be able to capitalize on it.
It seems like every season for the past 5 years we've been a player or two away from being legit... yet we have a hard time finishing 8-8. We desparately need to focus on getting a good coach first. Honestly there is enough talent on this team, we just need someone to motivate and lead us to that next level (which is finishing 9-7 ) |

RE: compensation
I think we should use the additional draft pick on good kicker if it is after round 3. A good kicker can step right into the job. I heard we may get 2 additional picks but that is only a rumor. We've got Stinchcomb coming back next year, so I think the OLine's goin be fine. If we draft Bush and trade Deuce for a QB Like Carr, Rivers, Harrington, or Volek, pick up some good hands receivers, 1 kick arse LB with the second pick and a couple of good OL backups with the rest, We are going to kick arse next year. Don't forget the others we have out injured right now, Watson and Fincher will really help the D next year. We also need to trade Howard if we can for another DT or 3 or 4 rounder to pick up one.

RE: compensation
Why are we giving up on Deuce already? That just seems silly. He's obviously our best offensive player, and at a time when our biggest needs are QB and LB, I don't think it would be a very smart thing to give away our best player. I just don't think we would take Reggie Bush (probably because Houston will be #1 and if they don't take him, they'll trade down to take D'Brickashaw). I see us taking Matt Leinart or AJ Hawk with our pick. If Deuce is healthy, he can be such a stud. I know that's kinda of a big if, but I think he's the kind of guy who knows what needs to be done, and he'll take care of business in the offseason.
Also, this is just something I was thinking about... I have a friend who plays football at SMU. He tore up his knee this year, and subsequently lost somewhere around 20-25 pounds. Do you think Deuce will have lost any of this weight? I know it's not necessarily a good thing because he probably lost a lot of strength, but at least he wouldn't be overweight right? |

RE: compensation
All I am worried about is that Deuce will get hurt again and then we will be stuck with him like Brooks because no one else wants him now. You know he has been injured the last two years and the third time is always the charm.
