here was debating with me about bentley and his status with this team and possibly being franchised. i went back to read a article in the timespic.
copied: Bentley is expected to seek a contract similar to the one the Carolina Panthers gave free-agent guard Mike Wahle last year to lure him from the Green Bay Packers. Wahle reportedly signed a five-year deal worth up to $28 million with $11.5 million in bonuses. Saints general manager Mickey Loomis said the Saints will "just have to wait and see what happens" with Bentley, whom he expects will "surely test the market." The team is unlikely to consider placing a franchise tag on Bentley, because then they would have to pay him the average salary of the top five offensive linemen in the league at any position -- including the high-priced left tackles. The Saints talked with Bentley's agent, Peter Schaffer, last offseason about signing him to a long-term deal, but Loomis said the talks were a long way apart. |

RE: someone
those " " means direct quote from the person. in other words "just wait and see" "surely test the market" saints will not franchise him.

Good find Win and glad to see you won't let it go. After we cut AB and maybe trade Deuce if we draft Bush, Bentley will be franchised. I agree with you under the present situation we probably would not franchise Bentley but things will change very quickly leading up to the draft and even if we could we would not franchise Howard again, what a waste.

Reading something and then just repeating it is simply parroting, which this whole argument about Bentley has been, nothing but parroting.
By the way, another characteristic of BOB was to take a discussion already in progress, and make an entirely new thread about it to repeat his point again. Does this need to get any more obvious? |
