Quarterback Situation
With Brooks currently unhappy with his contractual situation and the potential of holding out , it would be great to see Jake get some first string preseason start time . I know Brooks has appeared to be rusty at times so far but if the worse case scenario did happen , it would be nice to know the back up would not be totally out of sync .
Do the Saints keep J.T. O ' Sullivan or Jeff Lewis as 3rd string ??? Or do the Saints cut their loses at this point and go for a cut down player ??? Any good looking prospects ?? |

Quarterback Situation
As far as 3rd string goes I say cut both of those guys. I\'d rather bring in some promising no-name or bring in an old-timer who may not ever have to play anyway (Billy Joe anyone?) At least we know a veteran could keep the offense going. O\'Sullivan is way too raw and Jeff Lewis has always been horrible. He has no pocket presence whatsoever. Here are his career stats:
Played in 12 games, started in none of them 28/54 for 210 yards (51.9%) TD: 0 INT: 2 QB Rating: 46.1 |

Denver seems to have a couple extra Qb\'s , someone wil have to be cut .
The question in my mind is would it be better to trade now , or scout the waiver wire and take a chance after the final cut down . Because the 2 # 3\'s we currently have are not getting it done in my mind either . |

I say we wait on the waiver wire. I\'ll go out on a limb here and say that some team will cut someone that is better than either one of our 3rd stringers
There\'s no danger in waiting. The 3rd stringer will have plenty of time to learn the offense before a situation would come up where he would have to play. I guess not everyone could be as lucky as Tampa Bay. Must be nice to have 3 QBs and know that any one of them can run your offense effectively. |

What I hate about the waiver wire is that another team can get them before the Saints do . Giving a sixth or seventh could prove well worth it . Never know where a free agent will choose to go .

Jeff Lewis is gone! What a shame. Let\'s see who is available in the next 2 weeks. Maybe Billy Kilmer will come back.

When a vet is as bad as a rookie , no brainer there .
Billy Kilmer , cool . why not Rypien is going for some kind of age record . Still say they need to comb the wire for a 3rd qb and corner depth . |
