this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; What can the team get for AB? What do you do with AMac? Who have the Saints even interviewed for the head coach job? Anyone know the answers to any of these? I'm clueless......

I don't think we can get much for Brooks. And it doesn't really bother me...I just want him gone.
They can place an ad in the classifieds: Used Quarterback: Sometimes runs, but not great. Not reliable at all, but has been known to put up pretty good stats at times. Upbeat player! Even when he gives the ball away, he still smiles. Take over payment, no money down. I really wish A-Mac had taken a few snaps after Fumbles got benched. The management really pissed away an opportunity to get some real-game evaluation of the kid. He probably wouldn't have done great, but they would have been able to see how he's progressing. Donnie Henderson interviewed Monday, but I don't know if anyone else has yet. |

AMac should go to Europe and then see what we have in training camp. On anything be a west coast scheme, he should be able to beat out Leinart for the position. |

I think letting him play this year at all put us at a disadvantage with trading him. We should have unloaded him last year, before he threw more picks than TDs, and before his last recorded game was 4 INTs to Tampa Bay. I don't think the benching effected that too much. Anyone who has access to a VCR can see Brooks for what he is. The ONLY thing that may up his value, is like TR said, the firing of Haslett. They lay Brooks' poor play at Haslett's feet, and hope someone buys.

I think Brooks stock is down, way down to a point we won't get crap for him, just cut him and be done with him, sure you try to find a team that's willing to give us something in exchange for him but I don't expect it, I agree, we should have tried to trade him last year, I think then we could have made a decent trade with someone, the only team I see that would with a slight chance want him is the Lions, as bad as Brooks is he would be a step up for them, we could hope for a 4th or 5th round pick for him in 2007, I think that's the best dealing we could ask for when it comes to Brooks.
In another post some one talked about the dome patrol, was that the good years for us or what?, I miss those days, I miss Ricky Jackson and Mills the most, those two guys were really good for the team, after a game once we stopped at a small restaurant, to our surprise Ricky was eating dinner there, I didn't want to bother him but I did, I went to his table and asked it he had a minute, he gave me about ten minutes, to my surprise he enjoyed talking to one of his fans, oh well time to stop dreaming about those days and getting ready for our future Saints. |
