Redskins | Smoot on the Trading Block - from KFFL (http://nfl.kffl.com) April 18, 2003 16:39:22 PT According to ESPN.com’s Len Pasquarelli, the Washington Redskins have quietly put CB Fred Smoot back on the trading block. The team, as reported, is looking to acquire additional draft choices. There’s a chance the team could part ways with him for a high second-round draft choice. Just to clear up where this rumor/news came from. |

Thanks, Scotty. I never believed the rumors circulating Woodson, but Smoot intrigues me. I would hope that the Saints are at the very least nibbling on the bait that the Skins have thrown out there.

You know, we could trade our 17th (1st) and 18th(1st) picks to the Vikings for their 8th (1st) and 40th (2nd). We take the best DT/LB with the 8th, then trade the 40th pick to the Skins for Smoot. We then use our second 2nd round pick on whatever position we did not pick up in the first. It could work. Saturday needs to get here quick so I can finally relax.
