looks good if you haven't read
Payton is expected to replace most, if not all, of the Saints' previous coaching staff. Former defensive coordinator Rick Venturi, former offensive coordinator Mike Sheppard and former running backs coach Johnny Roland were not retained.
At least three incumbent Saints assistants -- special teams coordinator Al Everest, secondary coach Willy Robinson and defensive line coach John Pease -- were scheduled to meet with Payton early this week. whole story if you guys haven't read it http://www.nola.com/saints/t-p/index...6610226440.xml |

RE: looks good if you haven
i'm not sure who he's going to bring in for the offensive co-ordinator position, but it seems like sheppard would have been a good keeper, considering payton wants to call the plays, and i don't see sheppard stepping on payton's toes as far as that's concerned... sheppard seems like he would have taken a lesser role in calling the offensive plays so i think we should have held on to him... i'm not sure who will come in knowing their role with the offense will be slim...

And Brooks, too. He was kind of a coach. I like to think of him as the "Losing Conditioning Coach."

The more I think about it I like Sean's pick in Gibbs, he was a HC in the collage ranks and also an assistant coach in collage, he was a defensive coach with LSU and his last job a LB's coach, he knows the ins and outs on defense, I expect him to really do well with our D, Sean, good job so far..
I really like what I'm seeing early on. |
