RE: La
i think once we decide on which defense we will run with payton at the helm, we'll see which players we'll target and eventually bring in to accomodate the scheme... if we go with the 4-3, keep young, sullivan and sign another big, athletic DL like kendrick clancy or langston moore.... if we go 3-4, we need some one quicker to fill the gap and hold the blocks at the point of attack, which doesn't suit young (although he's quick), and we need clancy again with the possiblity of drafting someone like dvoracek or leaders...

RE: La
personally, i feel it would be in our best interest to stay with the 4-3 this year, considering our players on the roster, then maybe switch next year to a 3-4 if the 4-3 doesn't work too well... switching this year will further set our already terrible defense back a year, since most of our scheme/personnel are geared to a 4-3 defensive front...

If he is availabe, we should jump on him. He has no future in Dallas with the 3-4. Gibbs is very familiar with him and he would be a great addition. Multiple Pro Bowl players with connections to the Crescent City are rare. It would be a positive step with the community and provide a message to the city that the saints are serious about winning immediately. |

So what DT would we let go in favor of Glover, if he is cut for that marginal salary cap reason? What's his market value - how much cap room would we have to give up to get him?
