Black and Gold Posting Guidelines

First I want to say welcome to the Black and Gold Country! Thank you for joining our website and we want to offer all Saints fans everywhere a hearty hello and welcome. This is where Saints fans gather to discuss Saints, New Orleans and Louisiana topics. Please read the description of the forum you are posting in because we have several boards with different topics. Posting subject matter on the wrong board will have to be moved to the correct board.

With hundreds of posts daily and the nature of this forum with its spikes in participation, it's impossible for us to review and read every message for content, accuracy, and validity. BlackandGold.com makes no warranties regarding the validity of statements made in the public forum area. With that said there may be times when there is objectionable content posted, or you may feel offended by comments made and we encourage you to contact us by email immediately. We have the ability to remove content that any member feels is objectionable and we will review and remove the content within a reasonable amount of time if we determine it is necessary. Please realize this process takes time and we may not be able to remove the objectionable material immediately.

TERMS OF SERVICE

When you joined for membership there was a process where you agreed to Terms of Service and a Privacy Policy. These are called click-wrap agreements and especially the Terms of Service define your conduct as well as the responsibility of this website.

By agreeing to the terms of service you agree that you WILL NOT add any content or conduct yourself in any way that is: unlawful; illegal; threatening; harmful; abusive; harassing; stalking (which not only includes violating the personal privacy of other members, but also following members around our site and others for whatever reason); tortuous (which means you have intent to cause harm to another); defamatory (which means you add content that is intended to disgrace or lower public opinion of a person or to harm a person's reputation); libelous (which means you post or add content that may be false, as in writing, print, signs, or pictures, that damages a person's reputation); vulgar; obscene; offensive; objectionable; pornographic; designed to harvest members to another website without purchasing advertisement; designed to interfere or interrupt this web site or any service provided, infected with a virus or other destructive or deleterious programming routine; giving rise to civil or criminal liability; or in violation of an applicable local, national or international law. Also you WILL NOT impersonate another or make false claims in your association with another person; will not harvest any information about any members or users of this site to use for your wishes like emailing spam; provide any content that may give rise to civil or criminal liability of the site editors, or that may constitute or be considered a violation of any local, national or international law.

Generally by trolling around and pushing on the edge of these guidelines and our terms of service merely to act like a jerk will inevitably or immediately lead to the offending member's posting privileges revoked.

THE PURPOSE OF ALL FORUMS WITHIN

We strive to have a courteous and respectful community where members can discuss and debate without fear of abusive and unnecessarily rude behavior from other members.

Veiled profanity is unacceptable in all forums accept the trash talk forum, but anything pornographic or illegal or which we determine to be objectionable can and may be removed from that forum by our moderators and site editors. We allow the use of either all asterisks/symbols or not at all. For example "****" and "*&*%$" are acceptable, while "sh!t, s**t or sh*t" are not. Calling out other members on the boards is frowned upon.

Free debate is welcome on all the forums and diversity of opinion lies at the heart of a good debate. Toward that end everyone is free to have their own opinion so long as it is expressed in a civil manner, is within the subject matter topic of the forum and does not otherwise violate forum rules. Restating the same opinion repeatedly (harping on it) in the same thread or in multiple threads; badgering others with different opinions than your own; starting multiple threads on the same topic; and generally beating a dead horse is against forum rules.

The forum administrators and moderators have had multiple complaints that the board is overrun with variations of the same topics, with the same posters expressing the same opinions. In an effort to improve the overall quality of the forums, the moderators have been asked to merge threads when necessary or split threads where there may be a misunderstanding. We do not delete threads or material, rather we split it off or gather the whole thread and take it from the forum to hold that content as evidence against an offensive member.

As you all know, our moderators are volunteers and moderating is not a perfect science. They have been instructed to enforce good policy with as much restraint as possible and in such a way as to encourage free expression of opinion. But remember this website is owned by and is the property of a corporation, this is not a public place or owned by any government or agency, so the arguement that you can say and do what you want in the name of "freedom of speech" has no merit here. Your support of the moderators volunteerism is appreciated and calling the Admins and Mods out publicly on the forum is an invitation to be banned. Questions can be made by private message or email. In other words, if you have a problem with the way this forum or this website is run, or any of the members moderating or administering it, do not post your dissatisfaction or question policy publicly in any forum, rather send an email to the webmaster. We will not tolerate public undermining of those who volunteer their time to administer freely offered services and this website.

GENERAL POSTING GUIDELINES

When posting stories/articles from outside sources, we request that you post a lead-in to the article, or tease the articles rather than to post them in their entirety. By teasing, we mean that it is ok to post a couple of paragraphs and then just link (place the URL) to the rest of the article. This will ensure avoiding any potential problems with copyright infringement. We also ask that you copy a URL back to the original source of the article, merely posting and article in your blog, then posting the URL to your blog is not giving credit to the original writers and is subject to be removed. Remember that sources such as AP (associated press) and Reuters are not public or government sources and are not free. They license their images and writings and it's strictly prohibited to post them without their permission or purchasing a license for their work. For these reasons we ask that you tease the article and post a URL back to the original source.

REGISTERING

We encourage a unique membership for each person. Registering more than one username is against our policy, if not stated before it is stated now. What is especially worse is using a second username to back up your own opinion, or for other deceptive reasons, or to regain access to the boards when access has been suspended.

RE: PAKOWITZ RULE

LongTimeFan has been added to the mod group.

On another note, you don't have to like the moderators here, but you will show them respect.
