I agree....we need to improve the OL. If there is one thing that is for certain....a good OL always equals success. Let go of Howard and Brooks for some serious cap room and start pickin up some good FA's

Of course, resigning Bentley is the highest priority. But, the market for free agent OL is usually thin. We need to develop through the draft.

RE: WHO DO THE SAINTS CUT, RELEASE, OR TRADE IN OFFSEASON
This year has several good OTs. It was posted on some other thread, but there is plenty of OT talent this year, I'm not sure about OG, though. I think QB, LB, DT, OL, CB are our priorities in that order. Just my opinion though. I think once our offense gets a little continuity, and they STAY HEALTHY (which was a big problem for them this last season) they will be what everybody like SI thought they were going to be: dominant. The fact is, they didn't play with each other enough to really get comfortable. I think that position will be fine. Especially wiht the maturation of Jamaal Brown, the return of Stinchcomb who was very impressive last offseason, and the good health of the others (Bentley, Mayberry, Holland, Jacox).

RE: WHO DO THE SAINTS CUT, RELEASE, OR TRADE IN OFFSEASON
2LB K C LT TE CB QB RB is my order. Line backing core needs to be addressed and I thinkk will in draft and free agency, a run stopping DT mixed in with the good line we have now would serve a world of good. Our Kicker Sucks and takes points off the board just by being dressed at game time. 40 Yarders become punts. To many games lost by D and Kicking game for two strait years.
While I admitt th play of the offense was miserable and yes at qurterback it was miserable also, I think this year was not truly a fair shake. Since Bently moved to Center there have been more false starts and botched excanges and he is better suited for Guard. The guy is a beast and can open holes, and is a probowler so move him back and get a center. Gandy needs to go. Mayberry if not cut should be returned to backup duty. I can't remember the last blocking tight end this team had? Quarterback mistakes can be kept in check with a good running game. That has been lacking the past two years. The running game was dominant in 2000 trough 2003 and the play of the quaterback was better(minus the airballs that hit the ground at the feet of the line), primarily due to second and third and shorts. This team cold win and does have the talent to do so, but lacked dicipline, scheme and this year motivation. My opinion feel free to cut up. |

I hate to say this because it might not be popular but I don't see Horn playing next year with the Saints.

Agreed. Both his mouth and his age have become too big a liability

What are the chances Arrington becomes available? That's one serious LB
