RE: 4-3 or 3-4, I guess we have the answer!
Tampa Bay's cover-two has worked well in disguising both blitzing packages and drop-dack coverage. But as can be seen, more and more offenses are starting to pick it apart. The same can be said prior to that, with Baltimore's 3-4 Super Bowl team. And WAY prior to that was Buddy Ryan's blitzing scheme. All have had their time and all are good Ds. But that doesn't mean we need to sacrifice a year of progression to make a lateral move to any of them. I'd rather see our new D-Cord (yes a 3-4 specialist) design the next big thing. I'd love to hear about halfway thru the season that we're the best D and upcoming opponents are having trouble designing an offense to move against us. But I don't neccessarily think the 3-4 will make that happen.
