RE: Rumors are flying?

If they stack 8 in the box with or with out FB play action pass will free up someone with the speed we would have on third and short. feel sorry for the LB not blitzing. Davis is a H back in a TE body so calling it a double TE set is silly. Duce got killed because our recievers were not good enough to repect. They could not win a game and the D's proved it to be true. opps there goes another drop pass or what kind of route was that? Horn needs to be there and we need another reciever with hands. get rid of the 8 men in the box defensive scheme against the saints and Duce will not get killed.

hey papz, i was watching the tight ends on nfl total access and now i can't remember the one running second on the dash, maybe you do because he fell at the end trying to stretch for that extra 1/10 of a better time both times he was up, but my point is although he may not have the natural ability of the number one, who do you think is gonna give his all everytime he lines up?

anyway, a trivia question.....................

out of all the guys who wore black and gold, who gave their all every game yr in and yr out?
naturally, this comes down to favorites and choices, but name 3...........smitty

There are a lot of tightends that are very good coming into this draft ssmitty... I didn't catch the tightends on NFL Total Access. I only watched Davis run but Pope, Lewis, Klop, and so many others look like they are going to be solid pros. If we wanted to draft a TE, we definately shouldn't do it with our first rounder... even if Davis is a freak of nature.

I didn't have the pleasure of watching Archie play, so I'm going to leave him out of my list.

1. Sam Mills
2. Eric Martin
3. Wayne Martin

And then there's the latest ESPN rumor that the Saints are looking to make a deal with Houston to solidify Leinart as their #1 pick. If this is true, Houston is toying with us. If we do this, we lose something & Houston still gets their guy Reggie Bush at #2. So, I guess we're screwed either way. Damn, I hate Texans!!!!!

not suggesting any tightend with first pick, papz, just the drive of an individual.........

I know what ya meant ssmitty. Haha... I love Jeff King. Any other draft he'd get more publicity... but not in this one with such a deep class. He bailed Marcus Vick out a lot in Hokie land. On the side note... in a couple of years, Brandon Orr will be the best back in the draft... well actually if Peterson decides to return for his senior season then Orr will be second best.

BlackandBlue 02-28-2006 08:18 PM

HA- and here I thought you'd jump at the blow-up doll......

CheramieIII 02-28-2006 08:53 PM

Hey I didn't say anything about getting rid of my blow up doll! :hump:

zachsaints52 02-28-2006 09:06 PM

Jeff King did pretty good this year. Solid blocker on Top of it, since he did help block for Jones and Suggs. Him at a later pick wouldn't be a bad idea.

TheDeuce 02-28-2006 10:49 PM

Nice pick zach. I've seen this guy play for two years in a row. Every game he's in, he always seems to make a big play. He's a very good blocker, which we need, and he also has good hands for a really big guy. I wouldn't be upset if we took him in the later rounds.

zachsaints52 03-01-2006 09:53 AM

I wouldn't use our Top 3 picks thouigh, maybe a 5th. He doesn't get enough recognition. He caught almost all of Vicks TD's, plus alot of First Downs.

BlackandBlue 03-01-2006 05:24 PM

Maybe he can come in and teach our receivers how to block, although as a unit, they were better this past season, than they were the previous two, but still......

hagan714 03-02-2006 10:25 AM

But if oakland would offer 2,4 this year and 1,3 next year i could swallow davis in round 1.
To bad you could not see archie play. he played with guts and heart. he was the brett farve of his time. He is the only player in NFL history to picked as a division MVP who played on a loosing team. players and coaches are the only ones who vote. says alot

FatiusJeebs 03-02-2006 10:53 AM

That must have been awesome. I would not mind trying to find some OLD Saints footage just to see what he was about.

RE: Rumors are flying?

Deuce looked pretty shaky standing still on the Zulu float, so I'm not sure passing on Bush would be a good idea.

FatiusJeebs 03-02-2006 12:50 PM

YOu make a valid point xan. We may need to address that position as well. But you know....as good as Bush is.. I'm beginning to like the sound of that RB from LSU. A 4.37 in the forty? WOW.

jrmllb 03-02-2006 12:55 PM

Addai is going to be something, I feel it...He has that range of slippery running and speed and the ability to catch out of the backfield that Marshall Faulk had once upon a time...My pick for our second round is Antonio Cromartie or Jason Allen...I watched those guys in the combine...they got injured in the last year but they are running fast and looked good in the drills...

jrmllb 03-02-2006 12:56 PM

ethey are DB's by the way...We also need a OLB though

xan 03-02-2006 01:01 PM

draft bush, then trade him. pick up addai later
