RE: my free agent list
I'd really like to get Witherspoon or Peterson but this draft is supposed to be deep in LB's. Howza bout Will Allen CB from the Giants? I think I read here that Payton and friends were interested in him. I really wouldnt mind seeing Drew Brees here, that could make our draft really interesting but I just dont see a Brees deal happening.

RE: my free agent list
I'd pick Witherspoon over Peterson, bc of age and injuries to Peterson. Will Allen would be nice

Witherspoon and Allen would be instant starters and needed speed to the defense. Signing a linebacker and a corner would mean that we could that we could get real creative with our 2nd rounder.

If you get witherspoon then a mlb is a sure bet in 2. You then have all young guns in the lb core and you got a min of 4 years not to worry about that postion. As for a CB that would be a #1 if the change of teams does him good is to much money for us. Allen does get lazy and that is a big knock against him. Besides we did that with McKinn and he was and still is a #2 CB but we are now shelling out some big bucks for him as an elite #2. I do not know if he is able to be a shut down conner ever. But i doubt it. I would take a shot at Ahmed Plummer, with the injury question we may get him for #3 or #4 cb money. Jerry Azumah, is the one I like the best of the FA CB. You get a return guy (25.1) and an a solid #2 CB. We will only get a shut down CB through the draft.

Ike taylor and rocky bernard should be the only FAs targeted. Ike Taylor would be our 2nd CB, which will alow us to cut or trade fred thomas. resign Fahkir Brown and use him as nickel back. Bernard would bring us some championship swagger, much like Dwight Smith did last year. Also, Bernard could motivate Sullivan, who is starting to come into his own, and transform Sullivan into a Warren Sapp kind of player....I think we should stay away from any LB cuz we'll have to overpay a will witherspoon to get him, and all the LBs (except witherspoon) available are very injury prone. Besides, we're getting James Allen and Alfred Fincher back. Allen started to be our playmaker before he got hurt. FIncher could develop into a solid back up.

I think you have the positions right but I disagree on the personnel. I think we should sign Maake (I can't spell his last name) from Baltimore. The guy stands up at the point of attack and should allow Sullivan to get after the passer which he excels at. Also, the LB we have are good but lacking a playmaker. James Allen was given numerous chances during the Haslett regime and Fincher I believe to be better suited as the backup MLB to Courtney Watson. That leaves us the chance to draft a corner back in the second round possibly someone of the talents of Antonio Cromartie from FSU.
