draft thoughts...............
deep down i feel the deal with brees is a done one.....
he is just checking out the last option........... however, miami still could come up with the cash at the last second, so, you really never know. so, if brees is signed and the saints move out of 2nd, do they still go after another qb? brees is what, 27? say he makes it through 3 yrs without major injury. we still are gonna need someone eventually to replace him......... we have amac, but who knows how that will pan out.......... are they secretly high on cutler? if they can pick up another pick or two while moving down, they could still start to build a really good offense for the future....... i know, i know, why have'nt we signed any premium fa's? geesh, it's a madhouse out there......... teams are dropping a crap load of money on these guys and most are signing with the first team they visit........... so, the good thing is while we're not landing who we've targeted now, the cash is still there for the near future..... after all, there will be many cuts made due to cap reasons and at least some will be some good prospects.... and while i believe the saints would shell out the money, it kinda scares me to give that kind of money away as other teams are doing on one or two guys........ qb's for the most part demand the most, and rightfully so in my mind, but you still need to set your goals as to what's realistic in the overall picture..... while the saints will definitely do something defensive wise, i still look for them to overhaul the offense first and go on from there..................smitty |

RE: draft thoughts...............
I don't see them signing Brees, I don't think its a good move at all. Sure take a look at him, we need to take a look at everyone and leave no stone unturned, but actually signing him I dont' think is the best option for the Saints in any situation.

RE: draft thoughts...............
Hey....I know we are all resting on the fact that Brees's arm may or may not hinder his performance but....the guy is an excellent QB and he would do great here in NO. If this goes down....get Hawk or Ferg.
