i think brees is just worried about us potentially drafting leinart. payton needs to tell him that the only qb he has to worry about is amac and that we plan on drafting hawk to make the defense much better. payton is just trying to drum up more interest in the 2nd overal pick.

i think brees prefers miami and is giving them every opportunity to come close to our bid. then he will sign with them. if they don't he will sign with us. but i don't even think they have to match or beat us jsut be in the ball park a little more.

And I have to agree with him. He wants to be in Miami over N.O.

Yeah, I thought since yesterday that we were being used. His first choice is Miami and if they offer him a deal close to ours he's going to sign with them. I think Miami and Brees are trying to work something out right now, hopefully we'll know soon how it went.

Saban and Mueller are no dummies. They visited first with Brees and then told him to come see them after the Saints had their offer on the table. Mueller may be dillusional at times, but you can bet Saban is NOT. Brees went to Miami after the Saints visit to increase his paycheck. What I worry about is another Brooks and his attitude of show me the money and let me smile all the way to the bank and hell on the TEAM and FANS! At the BOLTS he was hungry and out to prove something...his payday for that is coming!

What the Saints have going for them is MONEY and Peyton who will coach Brees to a higher level (hopefully).

What the Dolphins have is all the beautiful people (not to mention Ricky Williams...LOLOL). Brees can see himself hobnobbing with Shaq, Tiger, Marino, and all the beauties on South Beach!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone of us would like to be sitting on South Beach sipping a rum and diet coke (skinny *****) or cuba-liba with $8-10 million a year!

Insanity is defined as doing the same thing over, over, and over again...and expecting a different outcome!

Not me. South Beach is ugly and overcrowded. I'd buy my own beach instead!

I agree. I remember the first time I flew into Miami on business many, many moons ago. I rented a car and started looking for my motel. I got a little lost and stopped a couple of times to ask for directions. Nobody could understand what I was saying. I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone and somehow my plane landed in Cuba instead of Miami.

I do feel that the longer Brees is in Miami the better it is for the Saints. I feel that he would prefer to play there, but the difference in money is too large, and his agent is trying to close the gap. If the money were good enough, he would have already signed there.

I have a gut feeling that we are going to end up with McCown, though. That would be the typical Saint move. It is going to take a coach that can pull off a miracle despite the scheming, money grubbing people we have sitting in the FO.

what we have now at qb is basically zilch......
we are gonna need a backup and i have nothing against josh as one.
i was looking at miami's cap and what i see is 6.3 mil.
depending on how they would structure bree's contract, they still don't have a lot to work with. this is probably the main holdup. i thought brees had chosen us, but it seems not the case. and, i have to agree with others that if brees does'nt want to be here, i don't want him here either. when all this first started i read into it that brees was just looking for the most money and a life long contract. now, it seems to be the team of choice, almost the most money, and a life long contract. well, probably today we'll find out if that's true. if it's not true, you'll hear brees has left miami without a contract......smitty

it almost makes you yearn for a situation to develope such as miami dealing for culpepper and brees coming back here and being told, ahhh,,, we changed our mind, no thanks.....
