By the time we finish trading down from number two, we should have enough picks to make up the difference of whatever we gave them. Can you imagine if in this year's draft we had our first(and say traded down to 4-7 for more picks), then one of the Broncos firsts, then two seconds and a third? Holy crap. So we would have two first round picks, two seconds, AND a third. Wow.
How about this, whodi? Trade our pick to the Packers for their first and second this year, plus next year's first (and Javon Walker if they're desperate enough). Then trade the '07 pick from the Pack to Denver for BOTH of their first rounders (you don't need a crystal ball to know that the Packers are going to suck again). Then draft like so...

#5 - Hawk
#21? - that dt from FSU
#29 - Mangold
#34 - Hodge
#37 - Whitworth
I think Dbrick is the better choice.

I see him in a Jets uniform.

WhoDi, again we agree. On the plus side, this draft is so deep at positions we need, I wouldn't mind dealing out of an early round or two next year.

Provided Brees is throwing well and we can finish around 8-8 territory we won't be giving them a huge gift for next year.

I wish there were a way to get one or two of those without having to sacrifice anything next year though. The only thing that comes to mind is some sort of deal for Charles Grant and I would prefer not to do that.

I'm gonna get to all of these:

BMG, My thinking exactly. This is a deep draft at all our need positions. But anything we give Denver, we can get back trading down from #2, so I am not too worried about losing next year's picks. We are in the driver's seat.

okay then...
Hawk LB
Winston Justice OT
Nick Mangold C
Claude Wroten DT
LKell, this is BY FAR my favorite. Justice is a beast, Mangold is a beast, we KNOW Hawk is a beast, and Wroten is a beast, all at positions of extreme need.

Okay wheel, I like where your head's at. Packers first and second, a first next year AND Javon Walker may be a bit much though. I'd throw in Joe Horn if they wanted to do this deal, to get it done. But that gives us still a high first this year, and two lower firsts for this year, while keeping our one from next year cause we gave denver the Packer's number one right? If that's so, I still go Hawk, Justice, Mangold, then DT and hopefully one of those stud TEs will be around after that.

I really like this one. All we need is Will Allen to sign, and I would be gushing that the Saints did something VERY right.
