I'll be happy with the Drew Brees signing if we can trade down and pile up picks. If we can't trade down and we pick at 2, I would rather have Leinart and not have signed Brees, unless Bush falls to #2, I'd be happy with him also at 2.
Not me. I think in any other year, Hawk and Ferguson would have been consensus top three picks. And besides, what's done is done.

RE: Re: RE: Rumor: Why Bress over Matt

With the 12 million pick up next year and a rebuilt shoulder, i have to really wonder what is in the future at QB. With Young dropping and Cuttler god knows where, Matt is the man so I think Tenn may want to swap to get Chow the guy he knows best. We may do a San Diego and take Matt to trade him.
Then the jets to me are not going to make a big move at QB despite what the fans want. I see the Brick or Mario as there target. Unless the go after Bush.
As far as Denver goes i can see them moving up to make a move for Davis in the top 10 or Chad Jackson 15 through 20.

What player, past or present, would you compare Reggie Bush with? Now narrow your search to only first round picks? Narrow it even further to upper tier first round picks. I don't think you found much, didja? BTW, he reminds me of Dave Meggett and Eric Metcalf, neither of which were overall first rounders.

Bush is a quality player but the fact is he only touched the ball twenty times a game--if that--at SC. He played behind a huge and excellent O-line and was rarely touched at the line of scrimmage. But he hasn't proven he can take a pounding. If Kubiak uses the Denver style run attack of "one cut and go" Bush could easily be successful. But, using Payton's past running games at Dallas and New York, it's doubtful he'll install that kind of scheme in New Orleans.

In short, too many ifs with Bush and, that high up the draft, better to go with more of a probable.

Blake, Bush reminds me of LT, and I think Tomlinson is worthy of the 2nd pick in the draft. Bush and LT work out together in the off season and they both have similar running styles. I would say Bush is stronger than LT and a little faster. Hagan, as for Brees' shoulder and future with the team, I have my questions, but am willing to give him one year and see what happens. If it doesn't work out we can draft a qb next year or sign a qb in free agency. I'd love to have Leinart as a Saint but I don't think it would be smart for us to be paying 2 qb's soo much money, unless the FO only plans on keeping Brees around for one year...

Tomlinson is 5'10" 220lbs. He was a workhorse at TCU. Bush is 6'0" and showed up at the combines @ 200lbs. and wasn't a workhorse at USC. TCU's O-line was nothing compared to USC's. BTW twenty pounds can make a lot of difference. Sorry. I don't think it's a good comparison. And the fact that they work out together is meaningless in this context.

Well the reason I mentioned they work out together is that Bush is learning from LT. He's learning how to take care of himself, how to train, they watch film together. If Reggie's going to have a mentor, LT isn't a bad choice. I'm sure Bush is learning alot about how to stay healthy from LT. I also believe that Bush can handle the a heavy workload, but didn't have to because he had White as well. Bush not getting a lot of carries only means he's healthy and fresh and I believe that the 2 are very similar
