I say let's not go off the deep end with wide receivers. That corps is adequate right now. If a trade comes about the Saints need to make sure there's a quality corner in there. That is unless they plan to start Stoutmire and Bullocks at safety and McKenzie and Smith at CB. Hmmm...

We would have Walker and Stallworth on the outside and Horn and Henderson would battle for the slot receiver spot. Then draft A.J. Hawk with the 5th pick. Draft one of the top Big CBs in the 2nd round. With the 3rd round pick draft Claude Wroten(DT from LSU). If Whithworth(OT from LSU) falls to the 4th round then it's a no-brainer, we draft him. If this happens, the rest of the draft is for special teams help(speed and size).

Well conventional wisdom says hold off until draft day. We'll have much more bargaining power for that pick once the Saints are on the clock. Why deny ourselves that power?

I'm leery of Walker because of the injury, but it does highlight the fact that we need to be finding a successor to Horn. He's on the decline and I think last year showed that.

I'd rather have Javon on slot so he can just run stright down, because LB's and S's will be on him. I like 3rd rounder, and 2nd mostly, but we need Brick.

I can't believe half of you don't like this trade. We a picking up a solid player, possibly a star player depending how he comes back from injury. We are only dropping 3 picks and AJ Hawk will be available maybe even Brick. And we pick up a draft pick.

We'll be able to get a better deal than this on draft day. :wink:

i do not rate him as solid yet. possibly a star but hopefully anyone picked in the first two rounds has that potential. only one good year, first two were very big disappointments, last year injured, some negative buzz about his attitude also. plus, it is not a high need like OL or LB, CB. anyhoo, if i am GM gimme the first, and second with him and i'll do it, not 1st & 3rd.

Let's look at those:

Culpepper is coming off blowing out all the ligaments in his knee. You think if they traded him after LAST YEAR when he was second to Peyton in MVP voting he would have gotten more than a second round pick? I think so.

TO was an ASS to his whole team and they were happy to get ANYTHING for him, or did you not notice he was just CUT from the Eagles for absolutely nothing.

Alexander and James are RBs, who come a dime a dozen. Good receivers do not, or did you see Indy give HUGE money to Reggie Wayne, and let Edge James walk? So yeah, agree to disagree.
