RE: Mario Williams Poll
Deuce, I think he'll be a good player, just he's not what the Saints NEED.

RE: Mario Williams Poll
I agree. He sounds like a beast, but I just don't see how we could justify taking another DE when we have so many other holes. Especially when only two DEs can play on the field at one time. He would probably be spending a lot of time on the sidelines....

RE: Mario Williams Poll
would it be my ideal pick? no
would i be happy about the pick? given the type of player he is, yes, i would. i was happy when we picked will smith, for the very same reason. every year in the draft, you have a handful of players that could be considered "impact". Not only will they start, they will make an positive impact on the game in some fashion. anytime i can add "impact" players to my roster, i'm happy. and he is definately an impact player. |

RE: Mario Williams Poll
Good Point BnB, I'll be happy with just about whomever on most lists of top 10 prospects other than Young, who I do believe will be a very good player, but not be able to come in and make an impact his first few years. Even Cutler and Leinart I don't think will be First Year Impact Players, Maybe second year or late season, but QB's normally have more downs in the first year getting adjusted than "position" type players. Just my thoughts

RE: Mario Williams Poll
But we already have two "impact" players at the DE position, would you agree with that? It just seems that he's a "heckuva player" and seems ridiculously talented, but we need a guy who's going to come in right away and be on the field for every play (like Brick or Hawk) instead of switching out with other guys. Just my opinion, whatd'ya think?

RE: Mario Williams Poll
i think we have one "impact" DE on this team, currently. but how i grade "impact" might be a bit harder than how others would. Because you post rediculous numbers in half a season, does not make one an "impact", imo.

RE: Mario Williams Poll
I actually don't mind the "switching out" tactic. It keeps your D-line fresh and agressive. Phily has been using it for years and look where their D is ranked most years. You don't get phenominal numbers as a player doing this, but the team benifits.
