RUMOR C. Watson and J. Sullivan report out of shape.
According to the radio show Sportsnoteradio, the rumor was Watson and Sullivan came in out of shape. What do we do with Sullivan & Watson now? If we cut Sullivan, DT becomes a major need in the draft. BTW, they were suggesting that Colby may be moved to MLB.

I'm disappointed of them but it's only the end of March. I think this is going to be the end of the line for Sullivan if he doesn't finally "get it".

I like the idea of moving Colby to MLB he is got the size, and speed but needs to improve his tackling. As for Watson and Sully

It is March, how can a rumor about two players reporting in "out of shape" a major problem for the team. In this LA heat they will all get in shape soon. And remember Sullivan is going to be 300+ pounds anyway. I thought that is what teams want. And Watson ended the season injuried so he was busy getting well, and now he can get in shape. Let's support the team.

I would not consider Sullivan out of shape a major issue right now. As long as Sullivan remains in the NFL, this will always be a problem, especially in March. With that said, he has been a major disappointment, and you would think having the chance at a fresh start, with the new coaching staff, that he would be better prepared. With, or without him on the team, DT is a major area of concern. Sully is a backup DT right now, so whether the Saints cut him or not should have little impact on the draft, or in free agency. The overall position needs upgrading.
Watson, I would consider giving him a little more slack for now. What would be interesting is why, and in what ways is he out of shape. Is Watson just a little heavy right now due to the injury issue limiting his conditioning work, or has he been lazy in his rehab phase? Colby moving to MLB is a very interesting thought. The guy has done nothing but work his butt off since joining the team as a low round draft pick, so you never know. Since he has done well at his current position, I would give him chance in preseason to play some MLB, but hope someone else steps up so Colby can continue developing at his current position. IMO, the Saints need to resign McKinnon and hope for a decent year out of an aging player. With McKinnon back on board, this could help the development of Watson, who so far has been close to a bust. Another prospect should be a very high draft priority for MLB. |

Hey, I heard Grady Jackson is available. We could set Sully and Grady at a table and take the one that can eats the most.
