I think the the saints should keep their #2 draft pick and take Leinart. I know we have a lot of other needs, but if we take him we could be just like Cin. Bengals.
Take him at 2 and a quality LB in the 2nd, sit him for a year just a carson did for the bengals. I want to be a good saints fan and say we are going to bounce back and have a playoff season but, I really dont see that happening, so next year we could get another quality pick, as did the bengals. Draft what we need in the 2007 draft and then fill the rest of our holes in free agency, as did the bengals.
In 2 years from now leinart will be ready to start and we should have been able to put a pretty good team around him. I dont know about yall but i would be very happy with a so-so season next year with brees, and then a playoff year after that with leinart.

i can't argue with taking matt because there is a possibility that drew doesn't come back. at the same time there is no other guy i want running our offense then brees. i want him to come back and make this happen. i can't say for sure he will but if he can then we have our qb. the guy signed with us and as soon as he did he put up a billboard telling the fans hey we are going to do some things. i may be wrong, and if so the guy has gone above and beyond to prove it, but i think he is in it for more then a pay check. that is for sure part of it. we are all in it for the pay check. to me though this guy has something to prove and probably more now then ever. i just don't think this guy thinks he is done and to me i think or at least i am hoping like crazy he comes back. i am becoming a drew brees fan.

The Matt Bandwagon begins again. All the Mattfans have been silent for a few weeks after the signing of Brees but now because he has a mediocre pro day everyone thinks it a good idea again. If we don't draft defense and Brees doesn't come back what are we going to do with a rookie QB and nothing else. Cuz there won't be any money left to spend that's for sure.

At first I thought drafting Matt would be a good idea in case Brees isn't around after next season as sbkb said, but I'm with cher these days, we need to improve our OL and DL, if we sign Matt as said the money will run out,
Brees is our guy now, sure two good QB's would be nice (As the Chargers had ) but what about our other important needs? how would we sign players needed if low on money?
It's like buying a brand new car, you buy one than say I want another new one but can really only afford one because of your mortgage, sure two would be cool but not practical.
