Rush is right on this one. I can't see the sense in mortgaging our future for this draft. Yes, it's a deep class, but it isn't like all of these kids are going to be able to come in and play NFL-Caliber football from the get go. Trading to get a pick in next year's draft, I can get behind. Trading future picks on guys this year (no matter the hype), absolutely not. I only have to go back to the 99 and 2000 draft classes to see what good that can do. The only thing we got out of those 2 years just left as a FA for Philly.

Good answer Rush and PoppaFro. And down the road when they all hit free agency at the same time, we're going to be screwed... not to forget the initial investment will be costly as it is.

I can see picks this year and next. but I think a player included could make the deal also.
Oakland is interesting with brooks under a 2 year deal. Buffalo is in the mix with trade roumors around JP Arizona is in need but with Dennie Greene he might take VY. Minni is defintly in need. options are there but after the cards it is hard to pull the trigger. |

Next year I think the salary cap increases from 102 million to 109 million. Now an extra 7 million might not seem like much when looking at vet free agency but it sure can make it easy to sign a couple of good rookies out of the draft... The big questions are do we load up this year and hope we don't need free agency (doubtfull) next year or do we trade down and sign some cheaper rookies that might develop and if not we have some cash and high picks for next year? Of course with Benson I don't think we ever have to worry about being over the cap as he would never let that happen...
