Brown can make the move he is very athletic he has quick feet. Brick is 6'5" 305 pounds and Brown is 6'6" and 316 pounds not much diffrent in size. And do not forget why he was drafted PEPPERS need i say more i like the move of brown to left tackle. I like more it more if it leads to us getting A.J. Hawk the first member of the new Dome Patrol

I think between Hawk if we draft him and having Will Smith starting full time we would be on our way to having a great defense again

It looks to me that it will be going down to the wire with Brick, Williams, and Hawk. Here's my take on it.
Williams: Do we really need that much help at defensive end? I don't think so. I echo the sentiments of many people on the board who are Charles Grant fans. He was double-teamed constantly last season due to the weak interior line. That did, however, open up Will Smith and show how dominant this kid can be. Other teams will see that and it will be hard for them to double team BOTH of them next season. Mario would only be a good addition if the Saints were to switch to a 3-4 defense and move Will Smith into that Lawrence Taylor-esque postition at linebacker. I'm definitely not sold on drafting him. Hawk: Possibly the 2nd best athlete coming out this year behind Reggie Bush. Has great vision, amazing lateral field movement, great awareness and speed, and the ability to play any linebacking position, IMHO. He could definitely bring to the team what we've been looking for in a linebacker since the Dome Patrol. This guy can bring fans to their feet with his solid hits alone. Could very well be the next Urlacher. I would be very satisfied with this pick. Ferguson: After losing 3 of the 5 starting linemen to trade, release, and free agency, D'Brickshaw would be an extremely hard player to pass up in the draft. Jamaal Brown may have been drafted to eventually move to LT and may do very well there, but in the best interest of the offensive line, it may be wise to keep him at RT. Ferguson and Brown would make amazing bookend tackles who could ease the mind of Drew Brees and keep him protected. One guard position and center would be the spots to concentrate on. I would be elated with this pick. My prediction: D'Brickshaw Ferguson |

I still think we will take D'Brick. We cannot go wrong with either Hawk or D'Brick. I just happen to think D'Brick gives us better value at #2(and even better value at #4 if we trade down). In addition, I think we need to do whatever we need to do to protect our expensive investments in Brees and McAllister. With protection from two bookend tackles I think we can make the D better in the process by sustaining long drives and eating up that time on the clock, which keeps the D off the field. Remember the O was a bigger problem last year, not the D. As much as I want Hawk, I think D'Brick would be better for us.
Either way it's a win/win situation. |
