this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Here's a new scenario I read on a Bills thread the other day: Currently unhappy with the Bills, LB Takeo Spikes is seeking a trade. He could be trade bait with the #8 pick overall to move into the #2 ...

I'd do it if we got Spikes, their first and their second. Not just Spikes and a spot swap. No way. Hell, I might even make them give their third. No, I know I probably would. But i'd like to have Spikes on our team.

I'd take Spikes, their 1st, and 2nd. 3rd would be nice too, but I doubt they would give that much.

Interesting rumor... sounds enticing. I'll do it for a first swap and a second... and something next year of course. Spikes and a Jimmy Williams/Michael Huff or maybe even a Ngata sounds good.

Or Bunkley. Hell, if we got Spikes, I could even get on the Ferguson bandwagon. Spikes is a STUD LB. I don't know who'd play in the middle out of Spikes Fujita, and Simmons, prob Simmons, but i'd sure like the chance to find out.

I don't know if they would give their 2nd too, but if they would give their 1st & 3rd rounder I'd hope we would jump all over it. Spikes is a fast & strong (not to mention mean) LB. Hell, I'd even get off my Arrington kick for that deal.

I'd be down with that too. Don't matter to me where any of them plays LB, as long as they are on the field. That is a completely new LB coprs, but we still have Colby, Watson, and Fincher in the wings. Maybe these young cats can learn behind some true vets who actuallyhave gas left in the tank and can make plays.

Wasn't he out most or all of last year with an achellies rupture? That usually ends a carear (ask Reuben Mays). I think we have enough injured players now and I wouldn't want to give up te #2 for #8 and an injured player even if they did throw in their second and third. I say pass.

Takeo is an excellent player, but I would probably not want to trade for him. I have a strange feeling that he would be a negative on the team. The guy could not make it work in Cincinnati, which I cannot put fault on him for, but to then get unhappy in Buffalo would be a strong indication he may be hard to deal with. Two different organizations and still unhappy. Could be a major cancer...
