Is it okay to talk about Javon now?

There is speculation that the Packers will grant Javon Walker his wish and deal him. If Walker is traded, is it likely to happen draft week or during the draft. Denver has talked to Green Bay about the disgruntled receiver. The Broncos, along with the Eagles and the 49ers, are expected to make a strong push for Walker.

Sure. Let's talk about it. He's an elite talent. I'm all for bringing him in.

Grant for Walker, I'd jump on that deal like a gator on marshmallows.

Screw Grant for Walker. No way in hell would I go for that. I would, however, give them our second round pick next year for him.

Good call. You have to understand BMG has a woodie for Mario Williams. I can't see why, but he does. I would love a second rounder next year for walker trade though. LOVE IT!!! Sounds good to me. Doesn't hurt us in this draft, or the next if we trade down, and we get an up and coming receiver. That's a winner.

BlackandBlue 04-17-2006 02:58 PM

how about Stallworth and a 6th?

I could go for that trade. I've already been documented in stating my dislike for Stallworth. And if a trade with the Jets works out, and we get both of their first-round picks, we could draft Hawk at #4, Mangold at #29, and Stovall at #34.

And next year's crop of receivers is pretty damn good as well.

I would not give up a second for him. I like him, but he's only had one good season-injured the rest of the time. T.O. was traded for a 3rd (much better receiver than Walker) & Eric Moulds was traded for a 5th (more Pro Bowl seasons than Walker-w/ crappy QBs throwing him the ball I might add). As much as I like Walker, a second is too much considering what he's proved so far. Stallworth had the same type rookie season as Walker w/ less I.R. time in the last 3 seasons. Do you guys think we could get a second for him? I could warm up to giving up a 3rd for him though.

A second next year is too much? Not to me it isn't.

Diva's been a great influence on you B&B, I do believe you've mellowed.

I'm still in your corner about Grant for Walker by the way. The crushing grip of logic has me. I might even give them Joe Horn and Onome Ojo if they'd give us Walker and their #5.

papz 04-17-2006 03:50 PM

Who is this Javon Walker guy we speak of? Never heard of him... pass.

WAY too much. The guy is coming off of a serious injury and has had one good season.

What?? To each his own I guess.

xan 04-17-2006 04:07 PM

Who's the guy we drafted last year and got injured 1st day of training camp? Chase Lyman? Trade them straight up. Otherwise, why bother.

YES. He has not proven himself to garnish a second round pick. There are much more proven receivers being traded for 3rd-6th rounders. No offense whodi. I like Walker, but it's not worth it when you think of the receivers we could have got for far less in trade.

papz 04-17-2006 04:32 PM

LOL! Chase Lyman... are you crazy?! He's a stud in the making man... though we might be getting fair value in return.

Um, you do realize this would be a second for NEXT YEAR right? A second for NEXT YEAR is worth about as much as, or less than, a third THIS YEAR. A second for NEXT YEAR is not too much to give up for Walker. I strongly have to disagree there. And what is your examples of receivers getting picks this year? Eric Moulds? On his last legs. Brandon Lloyd? Walker is worth about 10 of that guy. Walker is in his prime. A second for NEXT YEAR would be right about perfect. And the great thing about picks for NEXT YEAR, is they can be conditional, based on playing time and stats and such.

TheDeuce 04-17-2006 04:44 PM

No way Walker is worthy of a trade for Grant. WR is not a need for us right now. If we made this trade, we'd be opening up a HUGE hole at DE, and would force us to take Mario Williams in the draft. Meanwhile, we wouldn't be able to use that pick to fill one of the REAL holes that we have RIGHT NOW. It's just dumb and not worth it, especially when Stallworth seems to be emerging as a potential #1 receiver and we have Horn wrapped up.

BlackandBlue 04-17-2006 05:46 PM

soft? No......

Compare the site to what it was two years ago. Back then, we had to keep close tabs on everything. These days, with the current members we have, there is little to no moderation needed......do you know why? Because the current members actually <gasp> know how to act, and respect most of their peers.

I'm proud of the site and the members here. People can come here and talk about anything they want, as it relates to the Saints or the NFL, and not be harrassed by others (for the most part).

papz 04-17-2006 05:50 PM

Oh yeah! Well I have news for you, mister. I'm a Hellraiser, a rabble rouser, a bad dude. When I get disrespected I.....I.....I'm all like...."Yo man! Why you disrespectin' me?"...and... the guy would be like...."Cuz...you...you smell"....... and then I would be all....like...like.....like...........tough and all and he'd be all apologetic.....and I'd say something like......"That's right, biatch. Now go fix me a sammich"......Yeah!

pakowitz 04-17-2006 06:19 PM

lmao.. now that was a funny post

papz 04-17-2006 06:55 PM

Just kidding with cha... it's not as bickery around here anymore like it use too (with the departure of BonB :P ). We have our occassional heated debates... but it's all in good fun. Honestly I like it here a lot here myself because we have a lot of attitude on this board which I like. I like the fact we have a lot of different opinions (ALOT)... which makes it interesting rather than everyone agreeing with each other. That gets boring. We've got a good group of guys now... both new and old... and it's been working well. You've been doing a good job... much props on how it's been going lately.

I was wondering... how the hell did we get on this subject?!

wheelman 04-17-2006 06:59 PM
