2005- Arrington was kept out of the starting lineup because of personal differences w/ his coaches most of the season
He started 10 games and had 47 tackles and 0 sacks. He wasnt kept out of the starting lineup for most of the season. |
I've seen him play enough. Great athlete, no question, but unlike the great ones, he doesn't put himself in the position to make plays. If he makes a big play, is because he was on the spot by chance, not by instinct.
He's good, but not Urlacher good or Lewis good or Brooks good. |

You are right, Arrington is extremely talented. But what i am saying is that i wouldnt shell out $7 million a year for a guy who has injury problems and a history of issues with his coaches. Now, in 2002, i would have given Arrington anything he wanted to come play with us. IT just seems to me as though he hasnt been the same. But i am not questioning his ability.

First off JB, let me say that was a good post. You made your point without trying to downplay a guy that has had nothing less than a stellar career so far. I believe that with the defensive line the G-Men have, Arrington will again shine. $7 million a year is a lot of money, true, but if he plays to his capability in New York people will be saying Lawrence Taylor all over again. And then... the same people bashing the man will be saying: "Damn, why didn't we go after that dude when we had the chance."

Didn't the Giants also take Pierce from the Redskins last year in FA? Who's next, Sean Taylor? lol

Oh, no doubt. But the Giants are raiding their defensive players, maybe it's just LBs though.
