6 Days and Counting
This has been the most grueling few months for Saints fans since the end of the season. After knowing the team's position in the draft since the final week of the season, there's been many different scenarios and opinions about the direction they are taking. Finally, after many long weeks of heated debates and logical discussions, we've finally made it to the final week leading up to the draft. The suspense builds, the nerves move even further closer to the edge, and our remote controls are within arms reach to be hurled at the television or nearest wall. Hopefully the front office takes advantage of the 2nd pick in the NFL Draft by picking a player that can actually make a difference......and not leave us scratching our heads.

RE: 6 Days and Counting
Sadly, it wasn't that long ago that we moved up to the 6th pick for a guy who left us scratching our heads. I, however, am with you in hoping that this is the year that our draft makes good sense to me before I have to think about it for several hours.

I'm pretty confident in our FO this time. I hear ya onthe move to no. 6 a few years back. I was away from home and had little draft coverage to access, but when I found out, I went apes***.
I'm sure Loomis will make a good call b/c he doesn't have the mental equivilent of a doorstop trying to help in Haz and his main man Venturi. ....that said, we damn sure better not draft Leinart...or if we do, he better get traded soon after. |

That is another thing that will be on my mind even after we pick...is this who we are going to keep? If the Saints draft Leinart, i am going to be in shock and i am going to sit there and wait to hear that they have traded his rights to someone else in return for the guy they wanted. Now, i dont know how long i am going to sit and wait for that but i will hold out hope for as long as possible before i drink myself into a coma.

lol! you're right on that one....I don't think I'll be able to focus for the next 5 days if I see us pickLeinart and keep him.
At that pointwe've wasted (yes, wasted) a pick at #2 overall, and also created friction with the guy we brought in by saying "I know we told you you weren't just here to keep the seat warm, but keep the seat warm for us will you". Whether Brees pans out or not, he deserves the chance to do so. Passing on Leinart, or any QB for that matter, this year is not the end of our lives as a franchise. We kept Brooks and passed on some other damn fine QBs? did it hurt? yes...but now we are making it right...at least with Brees' contract we aren't tied at the hip forever. Should he suck, he's gone next year and we go to the top of the list for the Brady Quinn sweepstakes. |

Another thing...peoplehave been all over tillman for his play (it was one game!!!) and now the bears have signed manning to an offer sheet. some say manning could replace tillman. how enticing is it to get tillman (via trade, his release or what ever) to pair up with MM? Nothing like bringing a kid back home, huh?
do ya think it's a trade we could see come draft day? |

4th year, and I know this and you know this, but for somereason lots of folks want to hate the kid b/c Steve Smith made him look like a chump. They are down on Tillman and that is the reason Manning got the contract nod.
I don't understand how they equate the two, but if Till does come free, my question isdo you think its a deal worth making? |
