Absolutely. He was far better than some of the guys we have on now. A few announce teams need to watch his tapes and learn a bit.

he should have announced it before he quit. Everyone would have watched just to hear him a last time. a legend
after the draft a good recalling announcers thread would be kewl. didn't don crique used to do the saints way back when cbs had the nfc? |

am i the only one that doesn't like jackson? i mean the guy obviously had wet dreams about usc and michigan... it was so annoying when he'd announce those teams' games... you could just hear his smug attitude about how good and glorious those programs were... and texas too... i'm sure for the NC game this past year he blew his load b/c his dream came true.... he was sickening.... now if lee corso would retire, i would shed a tear or two.... but keith jackson? screw 'em...

I never really liked him. When he calls games with a Pac 10 team and another team he always seems to be biased. He's had some great calls, and Whoa Nellie is one of the most famous sports comments ever, but I just never really liked him. Maybe because he's old enough to be my great-grandfather and I could never really relate to him...

pac 10 and big 10 bias for sure... he was not shy to let it over-tone his play-by-play of those games either... that's the main reason i didn't like him... like michigan/usc was the greatest thing since the wheel or something...
