Your biggest first day winner(s)...
Arizona - Leinart, Lutui, and Pope
I thought the did the best today by getting their future franchise quarterback, getting a mauling run blocker for Edge, and getting a great third round pick in Pope. Just imagine a year from now Leinart surrounded by James, Boldin, Fitzgerald, Johnson, and Pope. That's an outstanding offense to go along with a young stout defense lead by Dansy, Dockett, Wilson, Berry, Rolle, and Green. That's a solid team with a solid coach. I almost forgot the have the ultimate secret weapon in Neil Rackers. |

Jets didn't do too shabby either with Brick and Mangold.

Jets...got two great quality OLinemen, AND the QB everyone was slurping as the sleeper hit of the year. THey also got a LB good enough to start for OSU, but smart enough to go to Air Force for 2 years.
Not bad consolation for not getting Bush. And the Patriots, of course, made their picks count a ton too. |

Before Clemens got hurt, he was lighting it up in Oregon. Great accuracy and outstanding numbers. Typical Pac-10 quarterback though. He didn't get much hype because if his injury and the system there. I think his backup name is Dixon and he did awesome job when he took over which probably made people a little weary of how good Clemens really was/is. He made more sense in New York than Croyle because of the weather they get there in Oregon but I think Croyle will have a better career in KC than Clemens in New York... but I do think the Jets had a very solid draft.
Maroney will be a STAR in New England. I love that pick for NE. |

Carolina--Got the 2nd best runner and runner with the best attitude in the draft for a team the loves the run. Love their pick of Marshall at corner, Fox is great with developing players. Anderson and Butler should contribute too. Carolina always makes good moves. I fear this team.
Houston--Finally gives David Carr at least 2 seconds to get rid of the ball. The tackles are more important than the other guys. If I were David Carr, I would have been screaming at the TV, "About dang time Charlie!" Jets--Hard to argue with the tandem of Ferguson and Mangold in round 1. I also really like the Schlegel pick, he should be able to get off a block (a huge contrast to Vilma). He starts before the season is out. Kellen Clemmons will get a chance to start and looks suspiciously like Tom Brady. Disciplined long term moves by the Jets. I would trade for their draft without batting an eyelash. Minnesota--Got the 2nd best LB in the draft, a solid #2 CB, a very good developmental QB prospect, and a quality center to replace Birk someday. |

NE a solid pick with Jackson (yeah I'm partial, but he does fill a need and should become a solid target for Brady)
Arizona is now LOADED! Kurt Warners wife had to be screaming at the TV. First Eli, Now Leinart |
