I won\'t blast you Lumm0x. In fact, I agree completely. Pat Swilling syndrome. Look at how dominant he was when he was playing with Wilks, Warren, Martin, Mills, Johnson, and Swilling. But what did he do in Detroit or Oakland? Nothing.

I have a couple of friends that are huge Bucs fans and they all say the same thing - Sapp is overrated. You ever notice how the Saints \"spokesman to the world\", the guy who is always mentioned on commercials or previews is Aaron Brooks? I think that\'s a major misconception. Deuce is more important to this team than Brooks (right now). So is Horn. Hell, you could even say Darren Howard or Sammy Knight was. But Brooks gets all the attention. That\'s what happens in Tampa. Sapp isn\'t chopped liver, but I think most Bucs fans would tell you if it were between him and Rice, Brooks, Quarles, Lynch, or maybe even Barber, Sapp should be given his walking papers before any of these other guys.

The only problem with that is that Pat Swilling is my favorite Saints player.
I agree that he wasn\'t productive in Detroit or Oakland, but he was my favorite here. Although he wasn\'t the best LB we had at the time he was the first one I climbed aboard the bandwagon for.

I was really hurt when they shipped him to Detroit even though the deal was very good for us at the time and over time.

Somebody get me a Swilling avatar please. I love Rickey too....but I\'d love a Swilling even more.

darren howard or sammy knight more important than AB? dat have you lost your mind? duece yes horn maybe, but how can you say 2 defensive guys on one of the worst defenses in the league last year are more important than AB one of the top 5 QB\'s in the nfl? i usually have respect for what you say here but if crap like that starts coming out i\'m going to have to disregard anything you say, do you really think delhomme coulda had the year AB had?

Sapp is overrated. His 2001 probowl appearance especially was bogus. He would be a good leader for this team if it were to happen. But it won\'t. He gets attention for being a clown more than being a good player. We do need a player to go in and claim responsibility for this defense and have someone that the players want to play even harder for. I\'d rather have Sullivan play for us, even though he is a rookie, than Sapp.

With the addition of Sullivan I like our current D-Line as far as starters and depth. It\'s our LBers that are the problem. We need a Ray Lewis, Brian Urlacher, Zach Thomas mold of LB to be the leader of our defense. All of the great D\'s have had a MLB that stands out on them. We are really missing this aspect on our defense.

Sapp will be too expensive. I\'d prefer a less controversial player. And one that won\'t break the bank (causing us to hold off when Champ Bailey comes looking in free agency).

I believe the cap hit could be better spent.

I do look for us to try an sign a MLB. I\'m not sure who\'s still out there or who might be available in June. I\'ll look around in my free time. Hey good news, that\'s all I have is free time. :P
