Hey y'all

I think I have been away too long........many new faces. B&G is growing up. Having sat here on draft days in prior years with all of us scratching our heads with picks like Sullivan and Stinkycomb. I think our #1 pick was an excellent choice. It is not everyday a Gale Sayers type runner falls in your lap. I am truly concerned about signing this guy though. I hope we can make it happen and I hope Bush's agents greed doesnt stand in the way. Speculation is one of the best parts of the draft days. But no doubt we got the best player in the draft. Was it a needed pick? I would say Brees is excited as well as our receiving corps to have someone else for the opposing defenses to keep an eye on. To have the addition of a Bush quality player, opens things up alot. Now what about defense?

Don't want em to get your goat don't show em where it's hid.

Damn right, you have! Good to see you back, subguy. There was no way the Saints could pass on Reggie Bush. It was a great move, and it will make the Texans look like the Portland Trail Blazers when they took Sam Bowie over Michael Jordan. Signing Bush will be the problem, but from what they were reporting on ESPN yesterday, Benson is saying "show him the money" pretty much. This is going to be one exciting season in New Orleans. As far as defense is concerned, I hope there are still some moves that can be made after June 1st. Maybe we can pick up a steal in rounds 5-7, but with their 4th round pick, they should draft Max-Jean Gilles if he's still there. He was projected 2nd round on many boards and has fallen all this way down. He would be a nice upgrade at the guard position. We have two 5th rounders that we can concentrate on defense and use the 7th round pick on a kicker.

People shouldn't be afraid of their government. Governments should be afraid of their people.

RE: Hey y

Hey Subguy. Long time.

The consensus on the board is pretty much as you saw it. Bush was a great pick, the trade for Faine was a good move. But the Harper pick has us all scratching our heads. There's a lot of disappointment about that one. And as you said, no defense so far (unless you count Harper -- <cough>)...

My guess is we'll get starters on defense through free agent trades. Eight safeties?? -- some of them are bound to get traded. Here's to hoping we can find a decent deal.

I'm with you on this one. Might not be the best pass blocker but is proven road grater
