you can'y really jude this draft until a couple of years go by but i have liked it and here is the reason. nearly every pick the saints have taken have the same words in their profs. either they are over achievers or they giveyou everything they can. that is what we have complained about. now we are getting guys like that. we should be happy about that.

I hate the draft but I do like the fact that with the vets we acquired in trading down, it gives us a better chance to win now. Time to forget about the queer picks... we added beef up front on both sides of the ball. I can't wait til camp starts so we can start to gel.

This draft has had me going WTF all weekend, but as a whole, it makes sense. We needed to rebuild our young depth for special teams and in general need areas. We also needed to get leaders and quality guys, as opposed to the people we apparently had.
I think we've done alright. The more I read about each pick, the more I can live with them. |

Remember this; if not for New England's recent success, people would be saying that their drafts are horrible. Just look at the analysis of their draft picks over the past four years, and you'll see similar descriptions. People are so worried about names, that they forget players must also fit the team's system.

yeah but we had the same kind of players during the Ditka days... lol. New England didn't get a bad rep for there drafts though... they were usually in the B range or better.

for sure wheel and i don't want a guy that could be great but has from time to time taken a play off. we have guys from this draft that work hard. we don't need anymore sullies. and myabe if they are drafted this way they don't go out and make non stop god damn penalties like under the haz.

Well I think we had an interesting draft. Asside form the no brainer Reggie pic, implementation of the west you can see the picks were used on guys who would benefit us in the that style offense. Running and quick timing routes is what its all about Zack won't have to run and block far just has to stand there for a second or two... I mean who the hell is going to bowl over this guy???
Zack on goal line offense as full-back but the way it looks he'll be playing Saftey... lol. |

that right there is the key for me 25...those damn penalties.
I lost count of the times I saw us getting up a head of steam and get deflated by stupidity. I swear I almost had a freakin coronary!!! If Payton gets the penalties down to the top 15 area and gets more production out of our front seven, everything else is gravy. |

Maybe when Payton came in, he thought our team was incredibly lazy. Because, as you guys have been saying, it looks like he's trying to build a team of desire and discipline.
Maybe that's why we let some of our best guys go - they may have had poor work ethic and poor devotion to the team according to Payton. It's all theory. |
