NFL Players I Played Against
None LOL
It was a fun thread I read somewhere. Any of you play with or against any guys that made it to the NFL? High School or college? Memories? I did have a best bud that had his bicycle stolen in junior high from Johnny Hector, Texas A&M, Jets in the '80s. I always bugged him that he should have wrote to him to buy him a replacement. |
RE: NFL Players I Played Against
I played against Frankie Okam, DT for UT. He'll be drafted in a few years. Nobody too good though.
|
Played Randy Livingston when he was at Newman and I was at De La Salle in a tournament. Something not right about a kid who can dunk in 8th grade, and had been doing it for a couple of years.
Missed playing Peyton in football by a year or two when I went to public school after De La Salle. |
Whoops, for whatever reason, the fact this was only NFL players totally escaped me. Sorry.
|
Peyton Manning at Newman, Ike Hilliard at Patterson...yeah thats it...also watched Randy Livingston dunk all over us at our own gym...in fact, he made onto that show that used to be on ESPN...Scholastic Sports America...that was pretty cool.

Marcus Spears- Cowboys
Chris Henry- Bengles ( gun carrying idiot) |
I played with Kenneth Mixon (DT) for 4 years. The guy was 6'6"-265 lbs. in high school. Benched 475 lbs. & ran a 4.59 flat!!! I had the pleasure (actually displeasure) of playing against 3 RB's that made it to the NFL: (1) Kevin Faulk (though he was a QB in High School at Carencro). They ran the option with Kendall Cleveland as RB. They were murder! ; (2) Anthony Thomas (Good H.S. RB at Winnfield High) ; (3) But the best RB's I ever played against was Cecil "The Diesel" Collins (Leesville High School). When we played Leesville they had 3 pass plays the whole game & one of those was to Collins. Dude had like 330 yds. on like 52 carries. This guy would have been a great NFL RB if he could have kept his D**K in his pants. The dude had unbelievable skills, but he was about as smart as Vince Young.

I played against Steve Mcnair three times in highschool and not only was he good on the field, he was a nice guy to. I picked him off twice and my wife says thats my claim to fame. Also played against Walter Payton's nephew once don't know how far he went, but he was good
|
Steve Broussard, punter for Saints. Golden Gloves champ and came one fight away from the Olympics. One kick in the pants!
Lastly, Wendell Ladner, from the same area as Bret Farve, a BMF who went on to the NBA and was killed in an air crash. Mr. Hustle! |
Didn't play against, but...
One former roommate played at Newman with Peyton. He transferred in his senior year, and on the first play of offense/defense came in and drilled Manning (he was a LB). Coaches were not happy. Erik went on to play at Ole Miss. Current roommate played at Nicholls, and his late twin has an award named after him there. Through him I know a handful of guys that played there, too. One of the guys sister is married to Pat Surtain (Chiefs). My roommate visits him a lot in KC and Miami (they kept their house there). |
I played on the same semi-pro team as Joe Cofer who played for the Redskins, Mike cofer who played for the Lions and James Beaver who played for the Cardinals. I count Fuad Reviez as a casual friend who I used to coach against here in Knoxville in the local peewee football league. I have also coached in the same organization with Shaun Ellis who played with the Jets. I also know Todd Helton who plays baseball for the Rockies and I have coached his nephew through peewee football. So I guess I count myself pretty blessed to know the talented people that I have known.

Skyler Green. We killed his team and he STILL ran for 200 and threw for over 100.
|
I played with and against a couple of guys who went to NFLE. These are all swedish guys.
With: Michael Jonsson, OL, Rhein Fire Joakim Holm, FB, Frankfurt Galaxy Against: CJ Björk, MLB, Amsterdam Admirals Christian Malm, WR, Hamburg Seadevils Patrik Lundqvist, S, Don't remember which NFLE team. I've also played against Eric Harris, a WR who was drafted by the Falcons in the late rounds in the late 90's or early 00's. He got injured and cut and so ended up in Sweden. He was really fast and strong, scored on us like 6 times but we still whooped their a**es. |
i played against my wife.........
she not only took it to the house, she took the house...................................smitty |

I dunno if I ever gave an official welcome but greetings to ya Crusader. It is kewl to have a Saabian fan among us. Are you from there? Tell me about it Smitty LOL. If anybody knows blues music you know Buddy Guy. He has a song on his latest disc called 'Cheaper to Keep Her'. Ya gotta live it to sing that. |
Actually....I did! LOL...all this time I have been looking at this thread like WTF?!?!? But I have played against Brian Griese. He was a Senior and I was a Junior in High School and our schools played against each other. If any others come to mind I'll be sure to post. Oh by the way....he probably was on one of the best teams in the county that year so yes....we got our arses kicked like 42-7.

Never played football against anyone good enough for the NFL, but, strangely enough, I played in a soccer match against the Great Dane in a tournament at Lafreniere park, back in like 86 or something like that.

Never played against them but went to high school with LSU safety Tommy Boudreaux, Houston Oilers Center Jay Pennison and, Colts wr/kr Clarence Verdin ... Jay and Tommy were classmates of mine and in fact, Jay lived just down the street from us ... Clarence was a spohomore my senior year and already had the kick return thing down ... Kid was a phenom to watch ...
