You know I was thinking the same thing, is this a newspaper or bloggy type portal. Blackandgold.net is registered as an internet broadcasting outlet which is now being taken more seriously and makes us pseudo news outlet, we've gotten press before. We've also has some crappy writing's I've published but at least the writers know facts and that the Saints play on Earth, so they're at least in the balpark. I can't tell if this is a blog e-zine... comedy parody.... and if it is I don't want to hurt his feelings, because like you said it's not worth it. But if this is legit and published in a newspaper, I am going to rip this guy's head off.

Well, ain't this nice? Seems like some on this website forget that one of our members is from De Ridder. One that's been a member for quite some time. I agree that this guy is a bit off the wall, but then again, who isn't?

I can't see how some of you can call everyone from De Ridder hicks or worse. It's not like some of us haven't said stupid things before.

This guy seems to have a problem with the Saints, oh well, seems to me like some of us have said the same things in the past years. It's one man's opinion!

I do not live in De Ridder anymore, I choose not to. However, it does not make me happy to have my home town talked about like this just because one idiot says what he feels, right or wrong. God knows I've heard some pretty dumb things on this site myself. I just never thought I'd ever hear something like this here.

So write away to the editor,if you choose. How do you think it will make you look? We do live in America. We all have our opinion.

I could care less how this guy feels or thinks about the Saints, I have been a Saints fan since 1967 and will remain one. I do however choose not to lower myself to his standards and belittle an entire town because on one writer.

Halo, I for one say don't debase yourself or this site with a response. This guy is obviously one of those guys that, even with facts, doesn't change his mind. And you'd just be lending him credence that his paper, and opinion, matter. Let it go people.

I'm with ya JoeSam. I'm from DeRidder myself and while some folks in my home town do resemble something from Deliverance and at times can be ignorant and absolute retards, there are a lot of good folks there. I ask that the people on this board not make statements like that. I come here for good, honest, informed opinions, and it brings down the quality of this board when ignorant statements are made. I'm in the Air Force so I don't get the opportunity to be surrounded by Saints fans and have good, passionate discussions and disagreements with many other Saints fans. This board gives a lot to me in information, humor, and good old fashion disagreement. I've read alot of your posts pakowitz and I know that you are as passionate a Saints fan as any that I have found. Please refrain from statements like that again. One thing Louisiana has no shortness of is towns full of "good ol boys", so the statement doesn't really have any value. Now the "gentleman" that wrote that column for the Beauregard Daily News is what we in DeRidder like to call a dumbass. Plain and simple. Plenty of those in the press as well. They're not confined to small country towns and newspapers. I can find plenty of examples for you if you like. However, I will agree with everyone that it's just plain ridiculous that this guy would actually post an article about the Saints when he obviously has bias and a total lack of information. But, folks, direct your venom to him, not your fellow fans.

I'm not trying to make fun of Deridder, I think this guy might have missed a few English classes and probably the last few years of football for the Saints. I agree with what Scotty said, why is this person writing about the Saints.
